The Proclaimers

The Proclaimers on Top Of The Pops

They're Gonna Be...more loved than ever!

It's been 20 years since the boys first struck gold with "Letter From America". But with the success of this year's unofficial charity single for Comic Relief...they're back!

It may seem that Craig and Charlie Reid have had 20 years off following their chart success in 1987 and 1988.

The Proclaimers

The boys in action!

But no!

They toured the major cities of Australia in 1989...

...in 2005, they were the opening act at Edinburgh 50,000 - The Final Push, the final concert of Live8 at Murrayfield Stadium...

..and this year, possibly their finest hit, "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" became the unofficial charity single for Comic Relief's Red Nose Day 2007 in the UK!

""I didn't really see us having chart success again""

The Proclaimers

It was been covered by comedians Peter Kay and Matt Lucas, in character as the wheelchair users Brian Potter of Phoenix Nights and Andy Pipkin from Little Britain respectively, and the boys featured in the song and the accompanying video.

So, 20 years on, it's kind of a comeback for the brothers Reid.

John's a big fan and decided to get together with them to talk about life in the 21st century.
