  1. Toots and the Maytals

Gems from Jamaica

Grammy award winning Jamaican reggae group Toots and the Maytals, formerly known as just The Maytals, emerged in the early 1960s with their gospel style harmonies. The group led by Toots Hibbert went on to clock up more Jamaican number ones than any other act, with a string of hits in the late sixties and early seventies. Their international successes Monkey Man and Pressure Drop saw a revival when UK acts The Specials and The Clash released covers of the respective tracks at the dawn of the eighties. True reggae royalty, Toots & the Maytals will delight the crowd at The West Holts Stage on Sunday.

Toots' voice sounds just as captivating as it did in the 60s.
