Rodrigo y Gabriela grew up on a somewhat surprising diet of heavy metal in their hometown of Mexico City, first joining forces in the heavy rock group Tierra Acida. When they decided to perfect their guitar craft and head to Europe, the duo found themselves busking on the streets of Dublin playing in their rhythmic Latin style. It's here that they found success when asked to play Irish festival Oxegen. They've since gone on to have a number one record in Ireland with their self-titled album of 2006 and once again have received rave reviews for their recent release 11:11. Expect an energetic display of true musicianship when Rodrigo y Gabriela headline the West Holts Stage on Sunday.
