A far cry from their days playing as Air's backing band on TV, french foursome Phoenix have well and truly won over the masses with their Grammy Award winning fourth studio album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. Hailing from Versailles, the band's intelligent brand of indie pop first received widespread attention when Too Young appeared on the soundtrack to Sofia Coppola's Lost In Translation. They themselves went on to play the Petit Trianon Musicians in Coppola's follow up film Marie Antoinette. Having received more and more recognition with each release, Phoenix will no doubt incite large scale audience participation when they perform recent hit Lisztomania in front a Friday afternoon crowd at the Other Stage.
