With their Blues groove combination of guitar and drums, Ohio export The Black Keys do a lot with very little. Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney formed in 2001 to many a simplistic White Stripes comparison. Their debut The Big Come Up exhibited their raw abilities, recorded entirely on an 8-track tape deck. Since then, they've gone on to great success, developing their sound with Danger Mouse on the 2008 album Attack & Release as well as indulging their hip-hop delights with Blackroc, a collaboration featuring Mos Def, RZA, Raekwon, Ludacris, Q-Tip, M.O.P. and the late Ol' Dirty Bastard.
The Black Keys have just released their new album, Brothers featuring the sure-fire festival winner Tighten Up. They take to the John Peel Stage on Friday.
