Holder of the Royal Horticultural Society's prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM), this beautiful primula blooms in late spring and early summer. Its tiered deep red flowers are held on white mealy stems above the rosette of mid-green leaves. Plants are found growing wild on wet hillsides in China. In this country, it enjoys moist, neutral to acid soil in partial shade. However it will tolerate full sun if the soil is moist enough. To propagate, sow seeds as soon as they are ripe.
