Christian Dior is an old rose variety that performs well having good foliage and showing good disease resistance. Strong stems bear shapely, double and slightly scented blooms of vibrant deep red. It should be pruned from late winter to early spring, reducing the main stems to 25-45cm (10-18in) above the ground. Remove any spindly or diseased growth. After pruning, apply a rose fertiliser and mulch.
