This striking, upright perennial will, with regular deadheading, bloom all summer. The open, gentian-blue flowers are much valued by bees, and look good in wildlife gardens or mixed borders. Stake plants and cut back stems after flowering in early autumn. Root cuttings can be taken from autumn to early winter and clumps divided in early spring, but it will self-seed freely.
