This wonderful Mexican columbine creates a big statement in a border. Its tall stalks carry an abundance of outward-facing, large, bright lemon-yellow flowers with long spurs. Be aware that they do spread prolifically, and stop this happening by removing the dead flowerheads. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
