The Mediterranean cypress forms a very thin, elegant-looking tree that is perfect for adding an italianate feel to any planting scheme. It forms a thin column of growth with dark silvery green foliage. In the UK it can be damaged by very cold winds and it's best to grow it in a sheltered position. It's useful for adding height to the back of the border and makes an attractive evergreen addition to shrub beds and formal plantings.
