There are more than 55 species of heuchera that originate from woodland areas of the US. Many cultivars have brightly coloured foliage and produce clump-forming plants that are great for groundcover. 'Can-can' is chiefly grown for its delightfully ruffled leaves with maroon and pewter marbling. It looks stunning planted in containers or at the front of a border. In early summer white flowers appear that contrast with the foliage, providing a dramatic display.
