Bronze medal
Wildlife Garden in a Skip

Design inspiration

Ruth Holmes"I was really excited to get the brief for this partnership project with the London Wildlife Trust. The idea was to create something fun, eye-catching and memorable. The project aims to promote sustainability, wildlife gardening and horticultural skills. The design hopes to inspire thoughts, ideas and activities that everyone can get involved with.

"The design needed to be flexible to allow recycled objects and plants to be used in the construction. It also represents the many people that made the project happen and what they are doing to deal with issues such as climate change, biodiversity and green skills. The skip represents waste management; the bath and sink represent rain water harvesting, water conservation and reuse and the solar pump represents sustainability and renewable energy."
