"Our small garden is a haven of restfulness and relaxation; a place to enjoy the beauty of nature. We have combined radically different materials to create this oasis. In the centre of the 'glade' is a structure with Purbeck stone walls supporting a pyramid-shaped roof of woven stainless steel which provides a wonderful contrast with the surrounding planting. The structure is viewed through a soft haze of silver birch foliage, complemented by underplanting of euphorbia, heuchera, hedera, perennial geraniums, hellebores, tiarella, pulmonaria, astrantia and ferns.
"The inspiration for the garden came from years of going to crowded shows where we longed to view more gardens that made us feel relaxed and rested; providing us with a feeling of gentleness and naturalness in the midst of all the hustle and bustle. We hope we have achieved this."
