"My design takes its influence from gardens of my childhood - the typical small front gardens of the 1950s. Reworking this style with a 21st-century twist, I have introduced mass planting, to cut down on labour, and a rill feature to take rainwater from the roof to irrigate the garden year round with rainwater. This conservation asset of the garden is important, as with the ever-changing climate everyone needs to be prepared for all eventualities."
