"The garden is inspired by Where The Wild Things Are, by Maurice Sendak. It's a horticultural interpretation, giving a third, living dimension to a two-dimensional classic of children's literature; a fantasy made real. A garden for the whole family: snoozing on the bed, playing in the Moon Boat or hiding among the plants. The element of darkness and menace in the book is reflected in the design. Fleshy, tactile, muscular, exuberance: angelica, alocasia, artichoke, banana, hosta, rhubarb suggest the fat tongues of the book's flora and chubby proportions of its fauna. It's a garden to inspire children and introduce them to the imaginative possibilities of plants."
