Design inspiration

Alan Gardner"I see this garden as an installation, something that would be at home in Tate Modern. The sole tree is mirrored by a Perspex panel with the shape of the tree cut out of it. The garden is a one-shot view, as it is edged on both sides by other gardens. People will view it through this cut-out panel, over polished granite. The green turf wave is also supported by Perspex and filled with matt black cobbles. This installation will be affected by the weather, with rain, frost or dew obscuring parts of the view, so it will look different every day. I see it as art rather than gardening."
