Ad astra per aspera (To the stars through adversity)

Ad astra per aspera (to the stars through adversity)

Design inspiration

Wayne Richards"This is a rooftop designed for someone to pursue their interest in astronomy within a relaxed garden setting. The style is a fusion of the classical and contemporary, utilising modern materials to overcome the challenging rooftop environment.

"Key elements within the garden include a colonnade made from lightweight plastic, an elliptical deck impregnated with fibre optics and a semi-intensive green roof. The planting is indicative of the celestial firmament combining billowing grasses with bursting orbs of allium. Evergreen climbers clothe the colonnade, while hardy alpine sempervivums fringe the deck."
