Pride & Prejudice
Pride & Prejudice

IN A NUTSHELL...

The Story: Ten years after Colin Firth sent middle England into raptures of lust in the TV adaptation comes this Working Title version of the evergreen Jane Austen classic. Matthew MacFadyen steps into Firth's breeches as the taciturn, misunderstood Mr Darcy, while Keira Knightley gets her most challenging role as Elizabeth Bennet. The all-star cast also includes Donald Sutherland, Brenda Blethyn and Dame Judi Dench. Joe Wright makes his directorial movie debut from a script by Deborah Moggach.
Useless Fact: Pride & Prejudice was previously filmed in 1940, with Laurence Olivier and Greer Garson as Darcy and Elizabeth. That screeenplay was co-written by Brave New World author Aldous Huxley.
