Indy Vs The Commies
The Indiana Jones IV rumour mill keeps chugging merrily along. This week, film gossip site Dark Horizons has unearthed what appears to be the first full plot synopsis, detailing the geriatric adventurer's struggles to retrieve the mysterious crystal skull.

Apparently, the tale is set at the height of the Cold War in 1957, and Indy himself faces suspicion from a reds-under-the-bed crazy Government. If you want to spoil yourself further, you can read the whole thing here, and look at some pretty pictures too.
Madsen Flies To Earhart
Virginia Madsen, last seen spooking Jim Carrey in The Number 23, has landed a role in the eagerly awaited biopic of Amelia Earhart. Hilary Swank is playing the famous aviator, with Richard Gere as her husband George Putnam. Mira Nair is directing, according to Variety.

Madsen is playing Gere's first wife Dorothy Binney, who sadly didn't twig that you have to fly solo across the Atlantic and then mysteriously disappear to keep a guy like Gere interested.
Petersen Quits Enders
Meanwhile, word reaches us from the darkest corners of the internet that director Wolfgang Petersen has walked off the sci fi epic Ender's Game, leaving the producers in a tizzy. According to SF site i09.com, Chartoff Productions is busily scouting directors to step behind the camera in time for a 2009 shoot. Get those CVs in now folks.

Based on the novel by Orson Scott Card, Enders Game is class space opera stuff, featuring a future mankind at war with evil insectoid aliens and lots of zero-G space battles. We reckon Woody Allen would be perfect.
Disney Gets Back To Nature
After decades of rendering the glories of nature into cutesy cartoon capers, Disney is having a crack at filming the real thing. According to Hollywood Reporter, the House of Mouse has revealed a new production banner called Disneynature which will produce, you guessed it, wildlife documentaries.

Disney has already nabbed some A List nature talent, including Planet Earth prodcuer-director Alistair Fothergill. There are plans for theatrically released documentaries about flamingos, orangutans and big cats. However, rumour has it that Disneynature's first feature will concern a darling little fawn fighting for survival after the death of her mother...
