In Kill Bill: Volume 1, "Quentin Tarantino elevates the B-movie to A-grade pop art - ripping off other people's films with inimitable style." Released to tie-in with the cinema release of the concluding Volume Two, this DVD is little more than a refresher disc.
Waiting For Tarantino

Quentin has confirmed future collector's editions for both films once he's finally finished playing with them (including editing both parts into one feature). For now then, it's a bare bones release, but you do get to experience Tarantino's cinematic savagery with an appropriately brutal DTS 5.1 sound mix.
A DVD Tease
Once you've mopped up the devastation left by the movie in your living room, there's a 22-minute 'making of' programme to placate you until the special edition arrives. Even though it's not very long, do bear in mind that, due to his rapid fire delivery, Quentin's actually able to pack in more information than most might achieve in an hour. You end up with a reasonable overview of the project from conception to delivery, but this is light stuff at best so we look forward to the special edition with higher expectations. Until then, this disc is a pleasurable tease.
