A member of US R&B group Color Me Badd has been arrested after allegedly shoving his bandmate while on stage.

Footage of Saturday's incident appears to show Bryan Abrams, 48, pushing Mark Calderon after a performance of the group's 1991 hit I Wanna Sex You Up.

According to authorities, external in upstate New York, the alleged victim fell into some sound equipment and was treated in hospital for neck and back pain.

Abrams was arrested on suspicion of attempted assault in the third degree.

He was released on bail on Monday and told to appear in court on 28 August to answer to the class B misdemeanour.

Sir Tom Jones plans to return to performing on Friday evening, with his show in York set to go ahead.

But the 78-year-old Welsh singer, said to be recovering well from a bacterial infection, has been forced to cancel a performance at the Down By The Laituri festival in Finland on Wednesday.

On Twitter, he was said to be "extremely sorry and disapointed", external not to be fit enough to perform.

Jimmy B has released the latest video for his track, taken from new album Electric Light - which is out now.

If that album featured an orchestra, what would they be called, we wonder?

The video captures the scenes just moments before and after some of Bay's big summer festival performances and you can check it out below.

The Brighton band have announced they are on the lookout for 'women and non-binary' artists to support them at a series of selected tour dates across the UK, Europe and US.

The open call comes in collaboration with Girls Rock London, external and the Girls Rock Camp Alliance, external in a bid to encourage inclusivity.

The Wives, who have been vocal about in the past about the importance of making their gigs safe spaces for women, said in a statement: "One of the best things about touring is getting to meet, exchange ideas with, and play music alongside kickass bands from all over the world.

"For our autumn headline tour dates we are calling for women/non-binary artists to come share their music, thoughts, the night and a stage with us.

Young musicians are exploring the sound and a new movement is hitting the high notes with both listeners and players.

Spotify says, the number of UK users aged 30 and under listening to their flagship Jazz UK playlist had increased by 108%.

Smaller streaming platforms such as Deezer and Amazon Music reported similar increases.

BBC reporter Kamilah McInnis has been speaking to artists like Oscar Jerome and Nubya Garcia (above) to find out what's driving new audiences to jazz.

Hampshire-born twin sisters Catherine and Lizzy's latest track is an indictment of the unrealistic portrayal of life, as told in the world of social media.

"We couldn’t help but address social media and the subconscious competition it creates," says Lizzy.

"There’s a fake reality that everyone our age is falling for right now. Scroll down, see my page, look at my perfect life!”

Lie Like Me is the first single to be taken from their new album Restless Minds, which is due out on 5 October.

The gospel choir who performed at the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have signed a deal with Sony Music UK.

The Kingdom Choir performed Stand By Me in front of an estimated global TV audience of 1.9 billion people at the Royal wedding on 19 May.

Prior to that, their biggest show had attracted about 200 people.

Be honest.

From Lou Reed to The Strokes, via Talking Heads, The Ramones, Beastie Boys and more - us UK music fans has always had a thing for artists from the Big Apple.

Some of our own most famous stars, including David Bowie, John Lennon and Alex Turner all made NYC their home for a periods as it seems - musically speaking - that there's always something fresh cooking.

Now, one of the latest bands from the city that never sleeps has been making festival crowds over here wake up to some of the city's newest sounds.

Bodega brought their post-modern punk vibes to Latitude, The Great Escape and London calling recently, to name but three, and are enjoying gigging throughout the Great British long hot summer.

"We've had a blast," said Nikki Belfiglio, who grew up 20 minutes from the site of the iconic Woodstock Festival.

"It feels like a New York summer, honestly. I think we're lower on the latitude than you guys so this our normal summer."

Frontman Ben Hozie added: "It's been great to come over and meet new people and play our songs for new people.

"New York City bands have always had a great relationship with the UK rock world, so we're happy to fit in that lineage.

"I didn't see a single person on their cell phone so Latitude must be doing something right.

"I saw a bunch of people just grooving and blissing out and that's the most you can hope for."

Earlier this month, the band released their debut album Endless Scroll, which takes a sideways swipe - pun intended - at modern life, technology and personal politics.

Ben is happy to admit the record contains more questions than answers, including lead single, How Did This Happen!? (above).

The record was produced by Austin Brown from another exciting New York band, Parquet Courts, who have also been touring these shores this summer in support of their new sixth album Wide Awake!

Drummer Max Savage was less impressed than Bodega's Ben with how the UK crowd handled the intense Suffolk sunshine, while watching them perform on the Latitude main stage a few weeks back.

"People should’ve stood up, they were a bunch of people sitting on the ground like they watching a Kenny G concert or something!

"We could’ve stripped naked and the crowd would’ve given us the same blank stare."

Speaking of their own new record - which was produced by Danger Mouse and has been getting plenty of 6 Music airtime - he added: "It's great for dancing, you can put it on at a party or when you come home drunk from the bar.

"Whether your favourite music is rock, rap, avant garde, new age, whatever, Wide Awake! is an easy-pleaser for a wide swathe of the population."

Think of other great New York bands who mastered many of the above genres, like Blondie, Public Enemy and LCD Soundsystem and it's clear the city has also often the led the way in terms of sampling and remixing.

Mr Savage were therefore excited to discuss their own three-track Wide Awake! remixes EP, which is out in September.

First up, one from "legend in his own right" Danny Krivit (below) and two more on the way from "one of the most talented guys alive right now" Mikey Young.

"It’s gonna be fire and you're gonna be hearing it this autumn on dance floors around the world."

Singer/guitarist and brother Andrew Savage went on to add that the remixes were - in part at least - inspired by some British baggy icons.

The rebirth of the New York rock 'n' roll scene around the turn of the 21st Century is chronicled in a new book called Meet Me in the Bathroom by journalist Elizabeth Goodman.

So will Bodega and Parquet Courts end up in a future chapter of the next book written about the NYC scene?

According to Courts bassist Sean Yeaton: "We’ll probably be part of an E-book.

"Let’s face it, we’re post-books."

The Strictly finalist and singer has been cast in the leading role of Roxie Hart in the West End production of Chicago.

She will appear at London's Phoenix Theatre from 13 August until 14 October.

Alexandra - who recently starred in the revival of Chess at the London Coliseum - retweeted the news, adding: "So excited!"

Oh my, how the time flies.

One minute you're an emo kid from Surrey with a debut album out.

Blink and a decade has gone by.

The band will mark 10 years of Take Off Your Colours with a UK tour in November/December.

They said, in a statement as one voice: "We can't wait to get out on the road in November and play new music from our new album VI live.

"On top of this, we know that Take Off Your Colours has played a huge part in a lot of our fans' lives and we're looking forward to playing that through in full on the added dates!".

Tickets go on sale tomorrow for the gigs, where support will come from Marmozets and The Xcerts.

Londoner Dan Caplen, 26, has toured with the likes of Anne-Marie and US rapper Macklemore, sang on the second biggest-selling single of the year, external so far and worked with the BBC's Sound of 2017 winner Ray BLK.

But it's a far cry from his start in music, studying piano and cello and playing classic works by composers like Bach, as well as singing in the choir at Canterbury Cathedral.

"My mum's from the Caribbean and my dad's English and I was born in Peterborough," he explains from his home in east London.

"From the age of seven or eight, I was singing two hours in the morning, two hours in the evening every day, including Christmas day, until I was about 12. It was enough to put me off religion."

It may have put the young singer and musician off attending church in his downtime but it seems the strict training, as well as a focused mum, helped install a strong worth ethic in Caplen.

"I went to school with kids that had money, my mum had this ingrained in me, 'Just 'cause you're hanging out with these kids, you're not like them, you don't have anything to fall back on, you've got to make your own way in the world'."

On finishing high school, Caplen moved to the US, to Portland, Oregon on a music scholarship and it's there that he started making his own music, inspired by artists like The Streets and John Legend.

And Caplen insists we won't get to hear any of those early songwriting efforts.

"I was saying this the other day, I started quite late, like other kids that started about 13 or 14 and when you write rubbish songs then you can get away with it.

"But when you're older and testing things out with friends, they're like, 'This is terrible, you've used love and baby like ten times already'.

"No, they are locked away on a USB in a vault that will never see the light of day."

It was a soulful cover of Mike Skinner's Blinded by the Lights (above) that first got Caplen some attention in the music press and he followed it up with Flat Champagne, external, which saw him duet with Ray (pictured below).

"Ray's my girl," he says. "I would go to her shows and we had the same band, we shared a bassist and guitarist and the first three or four times I tried to ask her, I just couldn't do it.

"But eventually I asked her to be on the tune and she loved it."

Dan's track Two Fingers was BBC Music Introducing's Track of the Week on Radio 1 in February.

Caplen's latest single Trouble (below), sees him work with one of MNL's earlier Newbie Tuesday acts, the Nicki Minaj-championed force of nature MC Ms Banks.

"She's one hell of a character, also her spitting game is ridiculous," he says.

"You never know what to expect, like what someone's ego will be but she walked into the studio and she was like the nicest person.

"She'd done her research and she was amazing and added that element to Trouble that it needed."

The song was co-written with James Newman (whose brother is singer John Newman) and BBC Sound of 2016 nominee Frances.

"We work as a trio and work well together. Writing by myself is boring, nowadays everyone likes to collab and it's easier to move things along a bit quicker."

Caplen arrived at a time when British soul and R&B music appears to be in rude health with the likes of Jorja Smith, Mahalia, Aeris Roves and Connie Constance.

Caplen says: "I think it's been bubbling for years, Mahalia I've known for a long time.

"I'm not sure what it is but its given us a chance to blossom and get a little of the light."

With takings of more than $54m (£38m), made up mostly of their tour - which included the 30th anniversary Joshua Tree shows - the Irish rockers have topped a list of the biggest earners in music for 2017

According to Billboard, country star Garth Brooks comes in second with Metallica in the third spot.

The highest placed Brit was Ed Sheeran with earnings of over $31m (£27m).

The sister of Katherine Langford - who plays the lead role of Hanna Baker in the US teen drama - has landed her own lead role in the forthcoming Harry Styles-inspired teen movie, After.

Josephine Langford, 20, from Perth has previously starred in the American supernatural horror film, Wish Upon, as well as the Australian TV series Wolf Creek

According to Deadline Hollywood, she'll now take on the role of Tessa in the new flick, falling in love with a mysterious tattooed heartthrob Brit (ring any bells, anyone?)

The film is a movie adaption of One Direction fan Anna Todd's best-selling fan-fiction series, which racked up 1.5 billion reads online.

The movie is currently being filmed in Atlanta, Georgia, and is set to be released in April 2019.

The Migos rapper is facing gun and drug charges after being pulled over by police in Georgia at the weekend.

Now his lawyer Drew Findling has told TMZ he claimed his client was targeted because he's a rich, young, black rapper wearing a "big fat watch" and was driving an expensive car.

"It's a common theme. We're talking about a young, African-American man driving a shiny, beautiful luxury car and clad in designer clothes and watches and jewelry.

"Unfortunately people in his genre become a target for law enforcement who think that lifestyle is connected to some illegal activity ... and that is a sad statement."

OK, mega Beatles fans among you will have noticed that Paul McCartney is either walking the wrong way across the crossing or the camera operator is on the wrong side to precisely replicate the cover of their seminal 1969 album.

He also has his shoes on and is missing his three Scouse muckers.

That said, it still clearly excited many in west London yesterday, as Sir Paul made his way into the studio to perform and intimate gig to a star-studded crowd.

The likes of Kylie Minogue, Stormzy and a mini Pirates of the Caribbean reunion in the form of Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom, were all spotted making their way into one of the world's most famous studios to see undoubtedly the world's most famous bass player give live debuts to three tracks from his new album Egypt Station and knock out plenty of Fab Four classics.

Paul's daughter, fashion designer, Stella and actress Liv (and Let Die) Tyler were also in the house, above.

They too wanted to see him get back to where he once belonged.

The beleaguered singer has responded to multiple allegations with a song called I Admit.

The 19-minute long track, posted on his SoundCloud page on Monday, admits to infidelity but denies allegations of paedophilia and non-consensual sex.

I Admit sees Kelly, 51, confess to relationship "mistakes" but fiercely deny illegal sexual acts.

How they gon' say I don't respect these women, when all I've done is represent? / Take my career and turn it upside down, 'cause you mad I've got some girlfriends.

He then sings that he thinks it's "crazy" to call his behaviour "paedophile".

He also alludes to alcohol abuse and struggles with fame.
