    The 50th series of Later... with Jools Holland is to be broadcast in April.

    Now in its 25th year, artists booked to appear this series include Kasabian, Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, The xx, Jamiroquai, Blondie, Future Islands and Lorde.

  3. Harry Styles going solo? Reaction to telly teaser.published at 15:36 BST 27 March 2017

    Harry Styles, external teased his debut solo single during an ad break on The Voice at the weekend.

    In the clip, a dripping wet Harry strides out of the darkness to open a light-filled doorway and we get a closeup of his heavenly green eyes.

    The internet, as would be expected, went nuts over the teasers and the date 7 April.

    And if that wasn't enough, the heart-throb also posted three blank squares on his Instagram, all of which gained hundreds of thousands of likes.

    Are you trying to tell us something, Harry? Come on, don't be coy. And get yourself a nice warm towel.

    The new series will be screened later this year.

    Sir David Attenborough’s Blue Planet II will be scored by Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer .

    Hans, who also created the music for Planet Earth II, will compose the theme and score for the new BBC series with Jacob Shea and Jasha Klebe, his co-composers in music production company Bleeding Fingers.

    He said it was "an incredible opportunity and privilege" to be working again with the BBC's natural history unit.

    “It’s a joy to compose to such beautiful, powerful and inspiring pictures," he said.

    “Once more the BBC has raised the bar and we intend to rise to the challenge.”

    The new seven-part series will be broadcast later this year on BBC One.

    Manchester band Shaking Chains have come up with a novel new way to show their latest music video - which means you will never see it the same way twice.

    They've used an inbuilt algorithm which pulls in short clips from video-sharing sites when you play their track Midnight Oil, external .

    The short bits of footage are shown back to back with the band's track playing over the top.

    "I was looking to create something visual and emotive, even poetic, yet connected to the songs," says drummer Jack Hardinger who came up with the idea.

    "S is for Songs, and I love songs," sings Sia in the latest episode of Sesame Street.

    The Aussie singer-songwriter appears with her two-tone wig, alongside similarly bewigged characters such as Cookie Monster and Elmo from the kids TV show in the clip.

    Newcastle alt-rockers Maximo Park have shared a video for their new track Get High (No, I Don't).

    It features an amazing central performance from dancer and choreographer Robby Graham.

    The daily grind takes on a whole new level of meaning as his daily routine gradually starts to unravel.

    Singer Paul Smith said the promo reflects "the frantic groove of the music as the dancing protagonist reaches breaking point.”

    We know what he means, we hate it when we can't get a seat on the bus too.

    Harry Potter is set to cast another spell on audiences - this time at New York's Radio City Music Hall, external .

    A special screening of the 2001 film Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone - or Sorcerer's Stone as is called in the US - will be accompanied by the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra performing John Williams’ Oscar-nominated score.

    Justin Freer, president of CineConcerts, told FOX411, external it took around three years to get permission from the film's studio and author JK Rowling and is scheduled to play across the world until 2018.

    Freer said they eventually planned to perform all eight films in the Harry Potter series.

    The Radio City shows will take place on 31 March and 1 April.

    For the first time since Prince's death last year, his band The New Power Generation aka The NPG have been announced as support for Phil Collins, external ‘ at British Summer Time in Hyde Park.

    The band worked with the late singer on the Diamonds and Pearls album and the Love Symbol Album.

    Apparently they will perform songs 'spanning the length of Prince’s career’ - no word yet on whether they will have some guest vocalists..

    Also joining the line-up for 30 June are KC and the Sunshine Band and the legends that are Chas and Dave.

    The subscriptions services is in talks to adapt the legendarily outrageous memoirs of 80s rockers Motley Crue, external .

    The bestselling book - The Dirt: Confessions of the World’s Most Notorious Rock Band - was written by bandmembers Tommy Lee, Vince Neil, Mick Mars and Nikki Sixx - who will also serve as co-producers on the film.

    The book spared no details, external in exposing the drug, booze and sex excesses of the band which formed in LA in 1981 and went to sell more than 100 million records worldwide.

    The film - if its gets the green light - will be directed by Jackass filmmaker Jeff Tremaine, external .

    Wonder if we'll see a guest appearance of Steve O or Johnny Knoxville?

    In a recent Music News LIVE, we told you about a new posthumous duets album which featured Notorious BIG' s vocals alongside artists including his wife Faith Evans .

    Now we have the first track from the album, The King and I.

    Ten Wife Commandments, features Faith and Biggie together.

    Other tracks on the album - due in May - feature Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes and Lil’ Kim.

    Biggie’s mum Voletta Wallace even contributes to an interlude.

    Snoop Dogg will induct his late friend Tupac Shakur into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next month, reports The Rolling Stone, external .

    Snoop and Tupac were friends and label mates at Death Row, as well as working together on All Eyes on Me and 2 of Americaz Most Wanted.

    Tupac was shot dead at the age of 25 in 1996.

    News of Snoop Dogg's involvement was reported on TMZ, , external which said the rapper would take part in a three-song musical tribute to Tupac.

    But Rolling Stone said the final line-up had not been confirmed.

    At the end of 2016, it was announced he rapper would be inducted into the hall of fame - alongside Pearl Jam, Joan Baez, Journey, Electric Light Orchestra - in his first year of eligibility.

    The induction will take place on 7 April at Brooklyn's Barcley's Center.

    Not that you need much more to celebrate than reaching three figures in age, Dame Vera Lynn set a new chart record on Friday becoming the oldest artist to have a top ten album.

    The 100-year-old one-time "Forces' Sweetheart" went top three with 100, featuring orchestral reinterpretations of her classic songs like We'll Meet Again.

    She said: "I have been quite overwhelmed by the response to my 100th birthday and now the icing on the cake is the news that my new Decca album is number three in the UK Album Charts."

    Ed Sheeran hung on to the top of the chart with his ÷ album, while Shape Of You racked up its 11th week at the top of the singles chart.

    Honestly, when is he going to catch a break?

    Damon Albarn's animated band showcased their first album in six years at a top secret gig at the Printworks venue in Surrey Quays, south London, on Friday night.

    "Thanks everyone for coming on such short notice," Damon told the small crowd of around 400 people, before the band launched onto the opener Asension - , external featuring vocals from Vince Staples.

    The rapper wasn't there in person sadly, however, a large amount of the other guest vocalists were on hand to perform including Danny Brown, Pusha T, Mercury-winner Benjamin Clementine and Savages' Jehnny Beth.

    "Some people couldn't make the trip, added Damon, "but they will be there when we play in Margate," he said, referring to Demon Dayz, their festival which will take over the Dreamland amusement park on Saturday 1 June.

    It was banger after banger for the crowd which sheltered some famous faces like Jude Law.

    Despite the setlist being largely new, aside from the tracks like Saturnz Barz, external and Andromeda - which the band shared last week - the crowd was on board from the get go.

    Midway through the set, Damon asked the audience: "Have you had enough? I know you don't want to miss the tube and it is a lot of new music."

    The final song on the album - We Got the Power, external - saw Jehnny Beth take central vocals, which being abley backed by a band, which now included Noel Gallagher on guitar and backing vocals and synth-legend Jean Michel Jarre on keyboards.

    But, even at the end of the album, the gig was far from over as he encore saw Damon come back and perform the classic hits Kids With Guns, Feel Good Inc - which saw guests De La Soul appear - and Clint Eastwood, which the singer delighted in telling the audience was the first time ever they were to perform the song live, with rapper Del Tha Funky Homosapien.

    A second encore saw Damon take everyone back on stage to perform Demon Dayz. "I'm just getting started," he joked. "I could go back and do the whole album again if they'd let us.

    "But I don't think I'm allowed to in this world we're living in."

    I know at least 400 people who would not have complained about a short extension to the night.

    It was surely the ultimate rendition of Happy Birthday.

    Stevie Wonder , external teamed up with Lady Gaga, external to sing Happy Birthday to  Elton John, external at his 70th birthday party on Saturday.

    The singers performed the track from Wonder's 1980 album Hotter Than July.

    Gaga also performed Bad Romance and Born This Way in a short piano set.

    Guests at the Los Angeles bash included Katy Perry, Heidi Klum and James Corden, while famous mates like Bono and David Beckham recorded videos wishing Sir Elt a happy birthday

    He was clearly not fazed about turning 70, telling  Beats 1’s Zane Lowe, external earlier this week: "When I was growing up, 70 sounded like the end of the world but things have changed - you’re only as old as you feel inside.”

    We wonder if they all stayed behind to help Elton clear up the paper plates and half-eaten houmous and pitta.

    The government is to respond to fears a police risk assessment form has been used in a "racist" way to target grime artists, the BBC understands.

    The 696 form, which has been in use on London for many years, asks for details like names, dates of birth, addresses and phone numbers of promoters and artists, for details of the target audience, and for the style of music.

    Some critics argue it is being used to crack down on grime music and black urban artists and their audiences.

    That's how Cheryl and Liam Payne have spent the first few days with their beautiful bubba.

    All of Cheryl’s Girls Aloud bandmates rushed to publicly congratulate the pair, with fellow mummy Nadine kicking off the Tweets.

    The Irish singer wrote: “Congratulations @cherylofficial I am so so happy for you & your precious little boy & family!

    “Sending you loads of love!…”

    Bestie Kimberley was the first to declare her congratulations on Instagram with a string of heart-eyed and blue heart emojis in a comment underneath Cheryl's baby announcement post.

    And Nicola wrote: ‘Heaven. Love you so much. [To the moon] and back.’

    She also posted a message dedicated to Kimberley and Cheryl for Mother’s Day, alongside a photograph of the three of them on the red carpet.

    Calling them her "2/3rds’, recalling how they used to ‘wonder what it would be like when we were older and the kids started coming".

    A pretty sensational looking Depeche Mode brought 6 Music's weekend of music in Glasgow to a close on Sunday night.

    The newly-rejunivated electro band have just released their new album Spirit and treated the crowd at Glasgow's Barrolands venue to Where's the Revolution.
