The Great British Bake Off presenter and Mighty Boosh star agrees with Liam G (below) that the Stones are the "greatest band ever."

The comedian turned 45 yesterday and apparently marked it in style, dancing the night away at the London Stadium.

He thanked the band, adding; "you made my birthday out of this world."

  3. Oh Sees announce new albumpublished at 15:12 BST 23 May 2018

    Oh SeesImage source, Get

They set the trend for ridiculous album titles and a prolific volume of output (which King Gizard and Lizard Wizard took to another level last year) now the Oh Sees are set to return with their first record of 2018.

The California-based psych rockers will release Smote Reverser on 17 August on their very own Castle Face Records.

Frontman John Dwyer spoke to us recently about their many name changes and how they're literally making jailhouse rock.

We wonder if the new one will be played in a prison before the year is out?

It's been 38 years since their last album but funk legend George Clinton hasn't lost the funk.

To give you some perspective, that's the same year that David Bowie released Scary Monsters and AC/DC's put out Back to Black.

The funk band have just dropped Medicaid Fraud Dogg, which features guest slots from the likes of jazz veteran Fred Wesley.

The first single I'm Gon Make U Sick O'Me features rapper Scarface.

We can't embed it here due to some language, which we have already discussed today (scroll down for grime artist Yizzy's thoughts), but you can find it on YouTube.

    BBC 6 Music

DJ Cut Chemist and rapper Chali 2na dropped by the 6 Music studios to play a medley of some classic Jurassic 5.

It's been just over twenty years since the hip hop group released their debut album.

Cut aka Lucas MacFadden - who has just released his first album in 12 years - recalled meeting Chali for the first time, telling Lauren Laverne: "He came up up me and he was all leathered down, like Eddie Murphy in The Golden Child and I was like, 'Man you look like Grandmaster Caz, I want to know you'."

    R KellyImage source, Getty Images

A leaked video of controversial R&B star R Kelly shows the singer telling a room full of people it is "too late" for his musical influence to be curtailed.

The video was originally uploaded to Facebook on 17 May, as the singer faced fresh allegations of sexual misconduct.

"I'm handcuffed by my destiny," he says, clutching a cigar and a drink. "They should've did this [expletive] 30 years ago.

"It's too late. The music has been injected into the world."

The #MuteRKelly campaign seeks to discourage people from listening to Kelly's music.

    BBC Radio 1

Yesterday is both the name of the track and when Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac decided to bring it to our attention as her Hottest Record in the world.

Rising singer-songwriter Connie blends soul and punk and you can check it above.

Don't worry the track isn't a cover of the McCartney/ Beatles classic.

    The singer said:

    Quote Message

I didn't think I could sing when I was younger but I'd just sing along to stuff in the shower like everyone does... and then I think eventually I thought; 'hold on, I'm actually hitting some notes here, let's keep going at this' and then I started writing.

"I'm a reggae anorak," says Ali Campbell, vocalist and founder of UB40.

"My whole life, I lived and grew around reggae music. I was devoted to it. I was a bit of a nutter, actually."

It's an obsession that's paid off: UB40 have sold 70 million albums and scored three number one singles over the last four decades.

Campbell's love of reggae also inspired the Labour of Love cover albums, which introduced classics like Red, Red Wine and Kingston Town to a new audience.

The band have had a turbulent couple of years, which culminated in the eight members splitting into two factions.

Ali's brother Duncan now fronts the band known simply as UB40; while the singer himself performs as UB40 Featuring Ali, Astro & Mickey - alongside keyboard player Mickey Virtue and the toaster/percussionist Astro, aka Terence Wilson.

The trio's latest album, A Real Labour of Love, entered the charts at number two in March and is among the top 40 best-selling albums of the year.

"That's hilarious - or I find it funny, at least," laughs the singer.

As the band prepare to play the Coventry leg of BBC Music's Biggest Weekend this Sunday, Campbell reflected on 40 years of success.

More than 3,500 singers came together in Manchester last night to lead a chorus of amateur voices in a mass sing-along to remember the victims of the Arena attack.

Twenty-two people died and hundreds more were injured when a bomb was detonated outside an Ariana Grande gig exactly one year ago yesterday.

Manchester Together, in Albert Square, featured songs by some of the city's favourite musicians including Oasis; whose songwriter Noel Gallagher appeared on the video screen with a message, to introduce their track Don't Look Back In Anger.

"If you look closely, I shall be miming along with you" said Noel.

The mass singalong followed a memorial service at Manchester Cathedral, which saw Prince William join political leaders and the families of the victims.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the 48-year-old said: “I’m obviously at the end of my journey of being a musician… because of my age, and I’ve been doing it for thirty-something years.”

"It’s perfect for me to be able to do a Vegas show because not only does it work for me as a mum, but it also works creatively."

The singer went on to say that it has become harder to tour with her three sons now in school, adding her last tour came following her divorce form British singer Gavin Rossdale.

“As a mum, if you look at my touring for the last ten years, I haven’t really toured,

Gwen, who had a successful career with the band No Doubt before releasing her Grammy-nominated debut solo album Love.Angel.Music.Baby in 2004 said her new Vegas show at the Zappos Theatre was "a way to express myself and do my whole catalogue of the music that defines every time period in my life".

  14. Can white people join in when a rapper uses the N-word?published at 10:47 BST 23 May 2018

    Kendrick LamarImage source, Getty Images

On Tuesday's MNL, we told you about the controversy when a white woman was booed at a Kendrick Lamar gig for singing along to one of his tracks on stage.

The rapper invited the woman to sing M.A.A.D City during his set at the Hangout Festival in Alabama but Lamar stopped her after she repeatedly used the N-word.

The reaction to the Kendrick footage on social media was mixed - with some defending the woman and others saying Lamar did the right thing by cutting her off.

South London grime artist Yizzy, told the BBC; "The word shouldn't have been used at all [by the female fan] - it would have been very easy for her not to use it."

Broadcaster Edward Adoo agrees saying: "When my black friends use it I feel uncomfortable, it feels rude, and if a white person says it, it's degrading."
