    We're off.

Thanks for joining us today. We hope that the new-found bromance between Liam and Coldplay thrilled you as much as it did us.

Scroll down for why Usher didn't make it despite being on the bill, Bill Murray's memorable first ever (professional) singing gig, Riri sticking it to the body-shamers and Bob Dylan's beat Nobel speech.

But before you do that, with Glasto on the horizon, why not have a go at our Which Glastonbury Stage Are You? Quiz.

You can tell a lot about a person by this...

    ...not that we're judging.

We're getting a real warm fuzzy feeling inside the MNL office today on this rainy Tuesday.

After Liam Gallagher said he'd changed his mind about not liking the Coldplay boys (scroll down) the band have now reciprocated thanking the former Oasis frontman for their "awesome" Live Forever collab at Sunday's One Love Manchester.

Liam criticised his brother Noel (above) for not returning from holiday himself to perform at their home city's big benefit gig.

However CM - or Chris Martin to you and I - also thanks the older Gallagher for giving his "blessing and encouragement" for them to sing another of his "incredible songs" Don't Look Book In Anger on the night as well.

We dread to think what Liam makes of the first 3/4 of this quadruple tweet but it seems that he and Coldplay at least are cool.

Never get in the middle of a family feud Chris.

There's a headline we never thought we would have to write.

The song is taken from their 2016 album Wild World.

And while we don't advocate either stealing a car, throwing your phone out of the window of a moving vehicle or breaking into someone else's pool - this does still look like a lot of fun.

While Liam Gallagher rocked up at the One Love Manchester gig unannounced, one artist originally on the bill was notable for his mysterious absence.

US R&B singer Usher has since offered his explanation, saying he was forced to cancel his appearance in England after needing to take his child to summer camp in the States.

He posted the above picture alongside the caption:

    Quote Message

So happy to see that last night's concert in Manchester proved that love always prevails. I would have loved to be there but It was my son's first day at Camp Kudzu, one of the few summer camps for kids living with diabetes. This was an important day for him and for myself as a proud father. Stay strong UK."

While he wasn't there in person, the singer, sporting bleached-blonde curls, also left a video message below saying "my heart is with you Manchester."

He added: "We need to love each other. We need to be good to each other and we need to stay strong.

    Chris CornellImage source, Reuters

The late Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell had several prescription drugs in his system but a report by Michigan's Wayne County Medical Examiner says "these drugs did not contribute to the cause of death."

The coroner confirmed the 52 year old's death was a suicide "caused by hanging," reported Rolling Stone, external.

Cornell's post-mortem toxicology report showed he had drugs for anxiety and decongestion in his system.

Cornell was "found partially suspended by a resistance exercise band in his hotel room" in Detroit last month, shortly after playing a gig in the city.

The injuries sustained "were all consistent with hanging, partially suspended by the resistance exercise band," said the coroner's report.

The singer's death caused an outpouring of grief in the industry with artists including Dave Grohl, Brad Pitt and Pharrel Williams all attending his funeral.

    Roger WatersImage source, Getty Images

In one of the more high brow debates raging in rock 'n' roll - former Pink Floyd singer Roger Waters has responded to Thom Yorke over the Radiohead singer's frustrated comments last week regarding his band's forthcoming gig in the Israeli capital.

In April, more than 50 prominent cultural figures, including Waters and filmmaker Ken Loach, signed a petition, external urging the Oxford outfit to boycott their planned gig in Tel Aviv under the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement, external that began in 2005.

Thom hit back last week in The Rolling Stone, saying: "It's really upsetting that artists I respect, think we are not capable of making a moral decision ourselves after all these years.

"It's deeply distressing that they choose to, rather than engage with us personally, throw [stuff] at us in public"

Now Roger has had his say, claiming Yorke's version "doesn't tell the whole story" and that he had "misinterpreted my attempt to start a conversation as a threat".

    Thom YorkeImage source, Getty Images

In a statement to the US magazine, Roger said: "I have made every effort to engage with him personally, and would still like to have the conversation", adding that "no to to talk is not an option."

Pointing to yesterday's "50th anniversary of the occupation of Palestine by Israel", Waters said: "Fifty years living under military occupation. Fifty years for a people with no civil rights. Fifty years of no recourse to the law. Fifty years of apartheid."

  18. Bob Dylan finally delivers 'extraordinary' Nobel lecturepublished at 09:54 BST 6 June 2017

    Bob DylanImage source, Reuters

Bob Dylan has finally delivered his Nobel Prize for literature lecture.

The veteran star won the 8m krona ($900,000 / £727,000) prize in October but did not collect the award until the end of March at a private event.

Dylan had until 10 June to deliver the lecture or forfeit the prize money but has now issued his taped lecture, which cites Buddy Holly as an influence.

Fair play to Bob who doesn't do things ordinarily - this is a 25-minute long beat poem with a piano accompaniment.

Alongside the influence of Buddy Holly, the veretan singer mentioned the books Moby Dick, The Odyssey and All Quiet on the Western Front.

"The speech is extraordinary and, as one might expect, eloquent," said Sara Danius of the Swedish Academy.

Listen to his full speech below.
