OK that's it for today, but - just like the England team - we have some big days ahead of us this week.

Scroll down for plenty of music celebs bigging up captain Harry Kane and the boys, plus word from the BET Awards, lots of Childish Gambino news (good and bad), as well as Taylor and Robbie going public with their friendship.

We'll leave you with a familiar-sounding melody from the weekend courtesy of Brian Wilson and the rest of The Beach Boys.

He's one of our own... He's one of our ow-ow-own.

If you're not English and reading this then don't worry - even Calvin Harris is singing it.

Aside from Harry Kane, Manchester United and England star Jesse Lingard - aka J Lingz -stole the show with a curling effort during their 6-1 thrashing of Panama on Sunday.

A strike matched only by his goal celebration.

Now it's emerged that the 25-year-old, famed across social media for his love of music, dabbing, dancing and general 'bants' had some method to his antics.

He was, in fact, performing the dance from the track Shoot.

Media outlets have been quick to tie the move, external to its appearance in Fortnite, the incredibly popular online team death match computer game.

The Irish shoegaze pioneers played an as-yet untitled track at the event on London's Southbank.

This year Robert Smith Cur-ated the lineup (get it?), selecting some of his favourite bands like MBV and the Manics, who we heard return the favour earlier today.

Kevin Shields' band have two new EPs on the way later this year and you can check out some fan-shot footage of them performing the new track above.

MVB also gave a rare live performance of What You Want, from their feedback-drenched seminal noise rock album Loveless, from 1991.

So earlier we told you how Childish Gambino (aka Donald Glover) is set to perform a big gig in the UK this year, despite having been accused of half-inching a recent hit from another rapper.

Trent Reznor, from hard rocking band Nine Inch Nails, might well be there if he's in town, as he's told his own band’s official website that the polymath is a genius.

“I’m significantly blown away by Donald Glover’s thing," he said, adding that his TV show Atlanta is "genius".

"That’s won me over, this guy’s smart," continued Reznor. "I’m watching Community. I listened to a couple Childish Gambino things and it wasn’t what I was expecting.”

And of the aforementioned This is America, which has now been viewed nearly 300 million times on Twitter, he added:

Hurray! It's sunny at a British music festival, for once!

Festival season is well and truly under way, now that a rather sunny Isle of Wight Festival has been and gone over the weekend.

There were about 50,000 people at Seaclose Park to see headliners Kasabian, Liam Gallagher, Depeche Mode and The Killers - with other sets from Rita Ora, Nile Rodgers and Chic, James Bay, Camila Cabello and Travis. Something for everyone, right?

It was the 50th anniversary of the very first Isle of Wight Festival, with gold outfits and a lot of glitter (yes, even more than usual) to mark the occasion. Back in 1968, the festival only lasted for one day, with performances from Jefferson Airplane, Fairport Convention and T-Rex.

What with there being the World Cup on at the moment, there was no escaping the football - some England fans chose to forego watching actual music to see the Panama game on a giant screen.

England international Peter Crouch was deemed surplus to requirements by the team this summer so he enjoyed himself instead by having a kickabout backstage at the IoW and was even spotted in the mosh pit for Kasabian too (not for the first time).

At six foot seven inches tall you don't want to be stood directly behind Crouchy at a festival - or catch an accidental elbow when the beat drops...

Ed Sheeran might have played all his hits at Cardiff on Saturday night - but he did have to disappear off stage to perform a couple of number ones.

Ed paused his show twice because, as he told the 60,000 sell-out crowd, he "needed a pee".

"I've been gigging since I was 14 and I've never done that," he told the crowd. "And now I do it in front of 60,000 people."

He had, to be fair, apparently drunk lots of water during the first half of the set.

  15. Is this the inspiration for Childish Gambino's This Is America?published at 10:19 BST 25 June 2018

    Childish GambinoImage source, Liberation Music

Donald Glover - aka Childish Gambino - has just announced he'll perform at London's O2 Arena on 4 November and tickets are available on Friday.

However, the rapper/actor has also been accused of "stealing" another rapper's song for his hit single, This Is America.

Internet sleuths uncovered American Pharoah, a 2016 track by Jase Harley, and said it had uncanny similarities to Glover's song.

Both feature dark lyrics about black America over a menacing beat; while Harley and Glover share a similar cadence in their delivery.

The track is available online but we can't bring it to you here on MNL I'm afraid due to the language.

You can certainly connect the dots between the two songs thematically - but the similarities hardly constitute theft.

Responding to fans on Instagram, external, Harley seemed to be relaxed about the situation, saying he was "glad if my record influenced his".

“A shout out would be cool," he added. "All good tho... he’s a great artist, dope I could’ve had some influence on the record."

This Is America was launched on Saturday Night Live in May. It's searingly political, ultra-violent video premiered shortly afterwards, and quickly went viral.

In case it's all a hazy blur, captain Harry Kane bagged a hat-trick and that clearly excited his pal Camila Cabello.

The unlikely strike duo were picked up front together a few months back to present an award at The Brits and now it seems in lieu of her home nations, the USA or Cuba being in action in Russia, that Camila has nailed her colours to the mast.

Is football really coming home then?

Plenty of other pop/rock stars seem to think it has at least put its shoes on and checked out the quickest possible route online.

Wolf Alice are so convinced that they've actually changed the name of their band.

    For now, at least.

First up today, news of big chart changes.

Since YouTube launched, the streaming site has seen 20 music videos break the two billion views mark. Sitting at the top of the heap is Luis Fonsi's Despacito (below), which has been watched a staggering 5.2 billion times.

"It seems anachronistic to be saying, 'we're only going to count the song', when it also has a video attached to it."
