Spotify shares will be publicly traded for the first time later on the New York market.

Spotify's listing, which could value it at $20bn (£14bn), is unconventional: it is not issuing any new shares.

Instead, shares held by the firm's private investors will be sold.

    Wildwood Kin

The pop world - as you may or may not have noticed - all went a little Americana crazy as we moved into 2018.

Think Justin Timberlake, external and Kylie Minogue, external, for starters.

Devon guitar/drum trio Wildwood Kin, however, have had their roots planted firmly in the UK alt-folk/country soil since long before it suddenly became cool again to retreat into the forest.

Sisters Beth and Emillie Key and cousin Meghann Loney may sound like Muse in the above band description but in truth their harmonies are more reminiscent of Fleet Foxes, Haim or Fleetwood Mac.

As we meet at Eurosonic festival in The Netherlands a few months back, following their gig "in a beautiful church" and an afternoon spot of second hand fur coat shopping, all three are intrigued to catch wind of Justin's new Man of the Woods direction.

"It's quite brave of him but he can do whatever he wants!," says Meghann.

"We grew up on very eclectic music and we're always up for delving into different genres and we're always up for collaborations.

"But I can't really see us going down a really, really poppy road.

"Saying that, you get remixes. I think it would be cool if someone we liked remixed one of our songs.

"But it is exciting when a musician changes direction and it's cool to be in an industry where people can do that and if they pull it off, it can open new doors."

Bandmate Emillie adds: "I actually had a dream the other night - it was really funny - that Phil Collins came up to me and said: 'I'd really like to produce your next album and write with you.'

"It was a bit random but I don't think we'd say no if he asked."

While a meeting with Mr Collins, for now at least, exists only in the realms of nocturnal subconscious fiction, the Kins certainly do have the ear of another influential music maker in reality.

Last year, Radio 2 DJ Bob Harris selected the girls as his pick for a Maida Vale live session (above).

    "That was crazy!" says Meghann.

"Bob invited us to do a session - he does these under-the-apple tree sessions at his house, where you come in and do an acoustic cover and an original song.

"We went in and did that. We didn't actually meet Bob that day, we met his son who did the session but later Bob got wind of it and next thing we knew, we were being played on his BBC Radio 2 show!

"He's just been so supportive. That's the craziest thing as he's obviously a bit of legend but also one of the nicest guys in the industry that we've met, so we were chuffed."

A Glastonbury appearance followed Bob's recommendation, along with the release of their debut album; Turning Tides, and a trip to the home of country, Nashville, for an AMA (Americana Music Association) showcase.

This year the DJ called the west coast indie-folk band back in again, to perform on the new Old Grey Whistle Test BBC Four special.

Closer to home, there has been continued support from BBC Music Introducing Devon too, as well as a memorable hometown gig at Exeter Cathedral.

    Quote Message

There's just something about the acoustics of churches and cathedrals that really compliment the vocals and everything in what we do.

As well as grandiose churches and TV screens the band are hoping to appear in plenty of sunny/muddy fields this summer too at festivals across the UK and Europe.

The UK festival scene is currently undergoing major change with many events signing up to the Keychange pledge to make lineups a 50/50 gender split by 2022.

Wildwood Kin, to quote another great folkee Bob Dylan, are happy to see that the times - they are a changin'.

"I think it's a super-exciting time to be a female in the music industry," offers Meghann.

    Quote Message

There's so many more equal opportunities being presented.

"There are so many female artists who are yet to be discovered and I think it will open the door for a more open-minded culture."

Emillie agrees: "It's encouraging for us as we go forward to know that there'll be that support."

All they need now is similar support from Phil C himself.

We can feel it coming... in the air tonight.

When it comes to music, taste is subjective, and tunes you love will no doubt appall others, and vice versa.

For example, you might be a massive fan of Olly Murs.

What about music created to be intentionally terrible though? A glance through pop history throws up numerous examples of musicians doing their best to make a tune tank.

    Why?

Check out this BBC Music article to find out.

Jack White tells Jo what his kids are into and how they keep him in check.

The singer and guitarist, whose latest album Boarding House Reach earned him a UK top five on Friday, has been speaking about his kids listening tastes.

    Twenty-One Pilots? Check.

Apparently the White kids are fans of their old man. Which is handy as when he's working on new music they have very little choice in what's coming out of dad's car stereo.

He told Jo Whiley: "They end up having real opinions about what I'm doing and they don't lie.

    "It's great to hear a child's version.

"They're not affected by any social ideas - they're just effected by the music itself."

Last week, the Eagles of Death Metal singer beat a hasty retreat posting and then deleting several messages, appearing to condemn teenagers across the United States, holding rallies calling for tighter gun control.

The protests were organised in the wake of the recent mass school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

At the time, Hughes - whose band's gig in Paris in 2015 was targeted by terrorists, killing 89 people - said "all of you protesting and taking days off from school insult the memory of those who were killed and abuse and insult me and every other lover of liberty by your every action".

Now, the singer - who was roundly criticised for his posts - has said: "I was not attempting to impugn the youth of America and this beautiful thing that they accomplished. I truly am sorry, I did not mean to hurt anyone or cause any harm."

It's not the first time, the singer - an avid supporter of the pro-gun lobby - has apologised for comments, previously saying sorry for suggesting some Bataclan theatre security guards may have known in advance about the Paris venue being attacked.

Live Forever may have topped radio X's list of the best British songs of all time but it didn't even make the list for most popular piece of classical music.

More than 120,000 listeners of Classic FM instead voted Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture as the best of all time in the station's Hall of Fame.

Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No 2 was in second place, having held the top spot eight times since 1996.

Last year's winner - Ralph Vaughan Williams' The Lark Ascending - was in third place.

Actor John Suchet, who is also one of the station's presenters, said the 1812 Overture is popular because it is "such a great showpiece".

"You can hear it at all the big classical music concerts. If it's done properly, it's got a huge orchestra, it's got a big choir, it's got the lot."

Mr Carter has been explaining the importance of a good voice and a sick lyrical flow to US TV talk show host David Letterman, for the latest in his Netflix series My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.

"You can have a great voice, and you can just almost say anything" explained Jay, who is off out on tour with his wife Beyonce again this summer.

"I think Snoop Dogg has a great voice, like he can say 'one-two-three and to the four,' I was like 'Oh my God.' It just sounds good, right?"

And of Eminem's brilliantly syncopated bars, he added: "You almost become a percussion inside the music,"

"So there's multiple ways to be really good. Some people just have it all."

    ...by Oasis.

That's according to the listeners of popular commercial indie radio station Radio X... and who are we to argue?

Their annual Easter poll threw up plenty of bangers but no real surprises, with the Manc rockers Live Forever finishing on top.

Which gives us an excellent excuse to embed the video above (air guitars at the ready at around 1 min 45).

The Gallagher brothers epic ode to immortality pipped Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody and their own track Don’t Look Back In Anger to claim the title.

On hearing the news, Noel Gallagher told the station: "I have always tried to aim higher than I think is possible.

“The perfectly rolled Cuban cigar in my solid gold cigar case. You are also THE MOST nostalgic demographic on earth.

“My children and my children's children's children will quaff in your general direction for many years to come. I salute you."

You'd be forgiven for thinking those claiming to have seen a tipsy Tay Tay performing in front of around 40 people in a Tennessee bar on Saturday night were trying to pull one big early April Fool's prank on you.

However, it did actually happen when she surprised a small audience in Nashville,

"Went back and played the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville!" she posted on Instagram.

"I played there for the first time when I was 14. There were bunny ears and this time (insert whiskey glass emoji), thanks to Craig Wiseman."

Fellow US country singer Wiseman (above left) apparently told the crowd about the time Taylor and pal Ed Sheeran once stole his bottle of Fireball.

Perhaps that's why Taylor was only trusted with a miniature.

The Reputation star sang Shake It Off, Love Story and Better Man and you can can check out some fan shot footage of below.

    Morning folks.

We hope you packed as much fun - and chocolate - as was humanly possible into that longest of Easter weekends.

As human bunny rabbit Justin Bieber (above) points out; "Remember when I said Easter isn't about bunnies... well i lied."

    Coming up shortly, we'll have

    • Justin on how religion set him free from "bondage and shame".
    • Taylor Swift going back to her roots to perform for 40 people in a bar
    • Stormzy's Love Island appearance and Ariana Grande at One Love Manchester are up for TV BAFTA awards
    • Jay-Z talks to David Letterman and praises Snoop Dogg and Eminem
    • And an Oasis song is voted best British song ever by the listeners of a commercial indie radio station (you'll never guess which).

OK - get logged back everyone, if you can remember your passwords.
