We saw some singers struggling to connect their brains and feet during Soccer Aid on Sunday night but it seems it also works the other way around.

BBC Sports presenter and former England striker Gary Lineker has been expressing his insecurities over his singing voice.

He told Radio 1's Chris Stark that he used to mime the national anthem when on England duty.

Another former Three Lions international, Frank Lampard, says he did so too and now we feel cheated.

    Watch above.

If the current England team are reading, we want you in full voice on Monday before your first match with Tunisia.

Just watch how Robbie Williams does it later on you'll be fine.

The pair have shared their collab on a new track Dance To This.

It's set to appear on the Australian singer-songwriter's upcoming second album Bloom which is out on 31 August.

Speaking to DJ Zane Lowe on Apple's Beats 1, Troye admitted he had been netrvous to ask Ariana.

"I think that she's just the coolest. I basically just texted her the song. I sat on it for a couple of weeks because I'm nervous to ask people for stuff.

"I don't want to ever put anybody in an uncomfortable position where they’re like, 'This song is terrible and I don't want to be a part of it.' So I kind of waited."

Listen above and see if you would have texted him back or not.

London rapper Big Narstie had a crack at the weather on ITV's Good Morning Britain last year (and again this year), now US singer/guitarist Ryan Adams is following him into the meteorological world courtesy of a Denver-based ABC station.

"I think it's partially because of the movie twister that I got into it" jokes Ryan, who has a gig in Colorado tonight.

That's the view of Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac, who was clearly taken aback by the east-London singer's falsetto on her new track, Another Lifetime.

The track, which totally contradicts Will Smith's World Cup song is about meeting the right person but in the wrong lifetime.

Nao said: "Have you ever been in a relationship with someone who is just an amazing person and did nothing wrong, ticked all the boxes but for whatever reason just wasn't right for you in this life at the moment?"

We hear you Nao, we hear you.

With the start of the World Cup 2018 just hours away, BBC Culture has been taking a look at why the Beautiful Game is so inextricably linked to music.

Writer Arwa Haider says "Football and music summon a combined power that heightens the senses, creates tribal identities, flaunts theatricality and wit (and copious cutting put-downs).

"The football anthem draws heavily from spiritual music, but also co-opts generations of pop tunes.

"It evokes a feeling of heritage, but it travels much further afield."

The Scots rap group have confirmed they were asked by the Ruhrtriennale arts festival in Germany to distance themselves from the Palestinian-led BDS (Boycottt, Divestment and Sanctions) as as a condition of appearing on the line up this summer.

The campaign promotes a boycott against Israel.

The festival released a statement on Wednesday, external saying: "The Ruhrtriennale distances itself in all forms from the BDS movement and wishes to have absolutely no connection with the campaign. We have therefore decided to cancel the concert."

Now, the band have released a statement through Artists for Palestine UK saying:"We feel it is a wrong and deeply unfair decision by the festival to take this stance and to also ask us to distance ourselves from our human rights principles in order for the appearance to go ahead.

"Anyone who knows the band and our history will know we oppose all forms of hatred and racial discrimination. Always have.

"We support one of the only peaceful protests a person can take, in the hope to achieve a just and comprehensive peace that allows Palestinian refugees the right to return to a safe homeland, and that allows Israelis and Palestinians of all faiths (and none) to live together in peace."

  13. LSO 'believes in complete equality' amid criticism over lack of women composerspublished at 11:44 BST 14 June 2018

Sir Simon Rattle and the London Symphony OrchestraImage source, AFP

The London Symphony Orchestra insists it "champions the work of women composers" after a survey of the 2018-19 seasons of 15 of the world's top orchestras found that fewer than 3% of the pieces to be performed were composed by a woman.

The report by Donne Women in Music and Drama Musica concluded that, of more than 1400 concerts in the coming season, only 76 of them include at least one piece by a female composer.

Now the LSO has said it "believes in complete equality".

Managing Director Kathryn McDowell said: "We opened the current season - and Sir Simon Rattle’s tenure as Music Director - with a fanfare by the British composer Helen Grime, and the LSO gave the world premiere of her new full length work, Woven Space, in April at the Barbican (pictured above).

"We will perform this work on tour in Japan in September and we are enormously proud that Helen is a graduate of the LSO composer development programmes, which have championed women composers since they began 13 years ago.

    Quote Message

Of the 12 young composers on our programmes this season six are women, and while entry to them is based purely on merit, we have seen a 50/50 gender split emerge for the past two years, signalling that the best composers writing in Britain today are just as likely to be women as they are men, which is exactly as it should be.

The track, which was produced by Diplo, goes:
