They've just been nominated for a prestigious music prize but Northern Irish indie outfit Brand New Friend have been telling the BBC's Mark Savage how their debut, Seatbelts For Aeroplanes, was just a demo until the label thought it was so good they released it.

"We're probably the only band on the shortlist who have an album that was never meant to be an album," says singer Taylor Johnson.

"It's a collection of 13 demos that we made by ourselves, on a nothing budget. Then we got signed and the record label loved it and wanted to put it out."

This poster has appeared in an Oxfam charity shop in Streatham, south London, and according to the Independent, the shop owner says it's legit.

It's not been confirmed through the official channels yet but Emily Eavis gave a massive clue last week during a Q&A at BBC Music Introducing LIVE when she said a "great British artist" would headline.

"This to me is going to be a moment. And he can become the enormous person that he is, do you know what I mean?," she said.

More on that one when we get it...

Singer-songwriter Ethan Barnett has been telling Music News LIVE about being the younger sibling to one of the biggest names in UK music.

Ethan, who records under the name Ten Tonnes, is supporting big bro George Ezra at his SSE Arena gig at Wembley later.

Speaking to us ahead of his set on the BBC Introducing stage at the Biggest Weekend in Coventry this summer, he insisted it's never been anything other than brotherly love between the artists.

"I know its quite boring to say it but it has always been good between us, we've always shown each other whatever we've been working on and got notes off each other.

"It's an advantage because if people know George, it means they might listen to my music, so it's a good thing."

Ahead of tonight's show, he's shared the upbeat new single, Better Than Me, which you can hear below.

In fact, Ethan insist that when it comes to his own music, George tends to stay out of it.

"He's good at letting me do my thing.

"He's like 'I'm here for you but I don't want to tell you what to do'. So, he's good at letting me enjoy it and do it my own way."

And the fringe benefits (apart form being asked on tour as a support artist) include getting to hear a number one album before anyone else.

"I got to hear the new record (Staying At Tamara's) last year when it was being made, which is always fun because it felt like being let in on a little secret."

While the siblings are yet to work together on an official capacity, Ethan reveals they did have a creative burst following a session at the boozer

"We got back from the pub one night, very, very drunk and started writing a song. Nothing came of it but it was fun at the time.

"Everyone else in the house was asleep so we were trying to be quiet."

  14. British stage designer clears up Lorde and Kanye stage rowpublished at 11:14 GMT 15 November 2018

Lorde and Kanye WestImage source, Getty Images

Two days ago Lorde accused Kanye of ripping off her "floating box" design which she used on her Melodrama tour and he then used at a festival performance at the weekend.

Now, the British stage designer who worked with Lorde on her tour has come out in defence of the rapper, suggesting the concept is not new.

Celebrated designer and artist Es Devlin, who has worked with the likes of Beyonce, U2 and Adele, posted a picture from an English National Opera production of Carmen 2007 with a similar staging.

"The idea of a floating glass box of course is not in any way new and the geometry precedes all of us," she wrote on Instagram.

"I did not design the recent Kids See Ghosts performance : I worked with Lorde on the design for her Coachella performance : I admire both and see no imitation at work here.

    Quote Message

I think the more interesting point is that both artists, responding to our dis-jointed times, are being drawn to this gesture of the fragile floating room: the world un-moored from gravity : where the rules of civilisation and identity as we have known them may soon no longer apply.

    Rules including copyright too, presumably.

Check it out a picture from the Carmen production below.

The US actress has responded to claims made by the UK singer in her recent autobiography about the two of them sharing a kiss during a night out in NYC.

In My Thoughts Exactly, Lily wrote: "For my New York shows, Zoë Kravitz and her band Lolawolf supported me, so I got to know Zoë a bit. We became friends... Zoë and I went out partying and ended up kissing."

Now, while promoting the new Fantastic Beasts film on Andy Cohen’s show, Kravitz was asked by a caller and the host about the alleged embrace and initially responded with a rather dismissive: “Who’s Lily Allen?”

“If by kissing she means, like, attacking then yes, she kissed me,” she added.

    “She attacked me.”

“I don’t think anybody read the book," came the reply.

Zoe's co-star Eddie Redmayne appears to be more of a fan of Lily's, describing her as "the voice of a generation."
