We'll leave you today with that most pressing of questions.

Scroll back down for all the gossip backstage at TRNSMT and Finsbury Park this weekend, plus The 1975's new album sounds like a real family affair, Liam and Cheryl are no more (they haven't ceased to exist, but they have split up) and an arty award for Stormzy.

Before we go, we reckon that Harry Styles has reached peak flare in this picture of him and his band in Chicago at the weekend.

We know that Harry favours the wider leg on his troos but has he shot too far this time?

Below is his boot-cut phase, which was preceded by his One Direction skinny look.

Here's the real question, are Harry's trouser legs reacting directly to his career trajectory?

We don't strictly give away prizes here on MNL but if we did, the best dressed rockstar of the weekend award would surely go to 'Howlin' Pelle Almqvist of The Hives.

    Just look at those shoes.

The Swedish rockers were one of the many "friends" at the Queens of the Stone Ages and Friends festival in London's Finsbury Park on Saturday.

"It was a good crowd and dare I say, we were even better," boasted Pelle.

Listen above as he told us the key to smashing a festival set (and outfit), how he once played in a "proto reunited Stooges" lineup with another of Saturday's main attractions, Iggy Pop, and how he usually spends his New Year's Eve with a certain other flame-haired rock star.

The electro-pop band (with a bit of a darker edge) are back later this year with a new album.

They've already given us a taster with The Animals, which you can hear below.

Helen and Daniel from the band stopped by to tell 6 Music's Liz Kershaw about how they came back together given that the band currently lives all over the world.

Helen's in Glasgow, Dan's in Sao Paolo, Brazil while others are in Chicago and London.

"Its refreshing, we've got lots of ideas and new music, it's good times," said Helen.

Aside from all the great rock/pop music going on in sunny fields across the country this weekend (TRANSMT, Finsbury Park etc) there was also a classical rave taking place in Manchester.

Hacienda Classic - the collaboration between former Hacienda DJs Mike Pickering and Graeme Park, with the Manchester Camerata Orchestra, external - brought their award-winning show (in all its shape-throwing glory) to the city's Castlefield Bowl.

Orchestra CEO Bob Riley told Music News LIVE they hope to "keep developing the amazing buzz that is Hacienda Classical", as well as moving into different genres like Motown and Northern Soul and tackling other areas, including International Women's Day, mental health and the Partition of India.

Bob said: "The enthusiasm from new audiences and array of supporters has been overwhelming, much appreciated, and makes us optimistic about the opportunities and challenges as we continue to bring orchestral music to more people – 130,000 this last year."

Last month, ahead of the Classic Brits, composer Alexis Ffrench gave his thumbs up to the DJ/orchestra crossover that is helping to popularise orchestral music but argued there are "even more interesting ways" of bringing the classics up to date in a bid to make the genre less "hierarchical" and "complacent."

Bob, however, believes that this is already happening and prefers take a more optimistic approach.

"For me, 'complacent' and 'hierarchical', is not accurate or helpful language for anyone: artists, audiences, festivals or venues" he added.

"Whilst I do understand his (Ffrench) point, I don’t believe it’s a new one and honestly, I think Alexis misses a critical point that there are so many artists, orchestras and ensembles already doing what he says needs to improve.

"I understand there is a more negative connotation of course - i.e class and racial divides - and rules about what you can and can’t do, but it’s important to understand there are plenty of organisations succeeding at overcoming these outdated barriers.

    Quote Message

Organisations like Scottish Ensemble, Sinfonia Cymru, BBC Philharmonic’s Red Brick Sessions, and emerging and fantastic new outfits like Manchester Collective.

"These, and many more are evolving, pushing the boundaries, as we have done with Hacienda Classical and will do with PROSE [Salford-based acoustic hip hop band]; they are doing it in their way, with their own communities, and that’s what will bring positive lasting change."

  14. Morrissey cancels all upcoming UK/European gigspublished at 11:34 BST 2 July 2018

    MorrisseyImage source, Getty Images

The Mozfather has postponed all his forthcoming UK and European tour dates in July due to "logistical circumstances", his management have confirmed.

On Friday we told you how the singer's manager had hit back over an anti-racism protest party that had been planned to coincide with his now cancelled gig in hometown Manchester on Sunday.

The protest, organised by former Hacienda DJ Dave Haslam, comes in response to Morrissey's increasingly right wing comments in the press over recent months, regarding the likes of English Defence League leader Tommy Robinson, For Britain founder Anne Marie Waters and Adolf Hitler.

Despite the cancellations, the One Nation Under a Groove shindig will still go ahead and Haslam has promised to give fans with Morrissey tickets 2-4-1 cocktails on receipt of an unused ticket.

Morrissey's gigs will apparently be rescheduled, so fans must now choose between hanging on to their ticket and a mohito/manhattan/cosmopolitan with Dave and co.
