    Well almost.

It's late enough for us to bid you farewell for another week.

Scroll back done for Rihanna talking about the end of her friendship with Drizzy, a Gaz Coombes 6 Music session, Anne Marie on touring with her pal Ed Sheeran and of course, the 5 Things We Learned This Week.

Plus new music from Jess Glynne, Manic Street Preachers, Charlie Puth, Shawn Mendes and Khalid and loads more.

Check out #SLFN tonight with performances from the likes of Kylie Minogue and The Streets (above) 19:30 BST. Be there or be a shape with four equal sides and angles.

It's also a bank holiday weekend, which means that we'll meet back here on Tuesday if that's okay with everyone?

    Yeah? Good.

Right, let's have a little dance shall we?

  2. Guns N' Roses drop previously unreleased trackpublished at 15:11 BST 4 May 2018

Slash of Guns N' RosesImage source, Getty Images

Axl, Slash and the band have put out a previously unreleased track as part of their new box-set edition re-issue of Appetite For Destruction.

Their 1987 debut album - yes, that really is 30 years ago - contained a few tracks you may have already heard, like Sweet Child o' Mine, Paradise City and Welcome to the Jungle.

    Yeah, thought you might.

Shadow Of Your Love finds Slash on his finest finger-licking form and you can check it out below.

We wouldn't normally encourage it but seeing as it's Friday afternoon, air guitar is permitted on this occasion (and actually encouraged).

So much music, so little time.

For that reason, we've prepared a-bumper package of new tunes for your post-lunch slumber.

The first is from Norwegian singer-songwriter Dagny (above) singing about the feelings of new love in some pretty spectacular mountainous surroundings.

I'm a tell 'em all that you could either hate me or love me / But that's just the way I am

I'm a tell you Charlie that here at MNL, we like your tune, but there is no such word as I'm a.

The other track is called Love Never.

  4. Sir Paul McCartney made Companion of Honourpublished at 14:18 BST 4 May 2018

    Sir Paul McCartneyImage source, PA

Sir Paul McCartney has paid tribute to his late mum and dad as the Queen made him a Companion of Honour for services to music.

It's one of the highest civic honours.

The 75-year-old Beatle was joined by wife Nancy Shevell at Buckingham Palace this morning.

"I see this as a huge honour for me and my family and I think of how proud my Liverpool mum and dad would have been to see this," he said.

You could say Sir Macca enjoyed a good day trip to the palace.

  5. 5 Things We Learned This Weekpublished at 14:01 BST 4 May 2018

We've got five things, we count em...

Before we do here's some of the unlucky also-rans from this week that are worthy of one last mention

    1. R Kelly slated the cancellation of one of his gigs over abuse 'rumours'.
    2. Bob Dylan launched his own brand of whiskey.
    3. Derby MC Eyez paid a musical tribute to PFA Footballer of the Year Mo Salah.
    4. Janelle Monae explained her pansexuality and addressed the subsequent reaction

    Ok, let's go...

    Miley CyrusImage source, Miley Cyrus/Twitter

    1) Miley Cyrus retracted a 10-year-old apology

The week kicked off with Miley Cyrus publicly taking back an apology she made as a 15-year-old, for sitting for a 'nude' shoot for celeb photographer Annie Leibovitz (pictured above).

She appeared in the artful black and white shot in 2008 for Vanity fair magazine, covered by a white sheet, but after facing criticism, said she was sorry - adding she was "so embarrassed" by the picture.

Taking to Twitter, the now-25-year-old singer and actress has now claimed "I'M NOT SORRY".

Good for you Miley, now bring on that Wrecking Ball...

    2) Boyzone are heading for the end zone

Ronan and the lads announced this week that their forthcoming seventh studio album and summer tour will be their last.

"We've had twenty-five amazing years and we promise you that this will be our biggest and best year yet," they wrote, in a statement of words to take your heart away.

Bandmate Shane Lynch added: "We're all very very excited about it.

"We know you guys have been so loyal for the last 25 years and you deserve one last BOOM from the Boyzone world."

We hope that doesn't hurt too much.

    Media caption,

The rock 'n roll star makes Reading his own. As you were.

    3) 'Boredom, booze and legal battles' will feature in new Liam Gallagher feature film

Liam Gallagher: As It Was, will be directed by documentary-maker Charlie Lightening and tell the story of how the singer went from Oasis megastar to "living on the edge, ostracised lost in the musical wilderness of boredom, booze and bitter legal battles."

The feature will include his performances from One Love Manchester, Reading and Glastonbury festivals and the 45-year-old's emotional first ever performance as a solo rock 'n' roller at The Ritz.

The main man himself, who last year returned with a number one debut solo album; As You Were, put it: “As It Was is a documentary about my musical comeback.

    Quote Message

It covers the writing and recording of my first solo album, right through to playing it live for the very first time in my hometown of Manchester and around the world. I hope you enjoy the film... As You Were.

Who knew that he'd one day end up with very his own catchphrase?

Liam also started working on his follow-up album in LA this week and in typically understated fashion declared it be sounding "biblical" already.

    4) For many, Kanye West is now public enemy number one

Just a normal week in the life of Kanye West.

He began by confirming his love of US President Donald Trump in a new track Ye VS the People,

That news went down like a trump in a lift among his musical friends and fans.

To continue the flatulent theme a second track; Lift Yourself Up, highlighted his new-found lyrical direction.

Not all superheroes wear suits. Some of them wear long ball gowns and sing.

Ashes, performed by the French-Canadian diva, is taken from the forthcoming sequel to the 2016 superhero movie.

We're not certain that's Ryan Reynolds in the suit to be honest but to give him the benefit of the doubt, we never knew he was such a talented mover.

And he really rocks those heels.

  6. Heavenly glow on new Manics videopublished at 13:40 BST 4 May 2018

Nicky Wire of Manic Street Preachers

The third of our retro Britpop legends trilogy today moves us on to the Manic Street Preachers and the latest new music video taken from their 13th album Resistance is Futile.

So - as it turns out - were their efforts to get to number one, as the record was narrowly kept of top spot by the apparently insurmountable soundtrack from The Greatest Showman.

We spoke to the Welsh rockers on the day of release and that exact situation was one of Nicky Wire's worst fears.

He'll have to simply shake it off as the band stop in on Wembley Arena tonight on their UK tour.

Check out the video below for Hold Me Like Heaven, which sees actress Sarah Sayuri reprise her role as a mysterious photographer.

Nicky (above) explains: “This track sprung from reading Lines on a Young Lady’s Photograph Album by Phillip Larkin, and his poem Aubade as well.

"It was the last lyric written for the record and I knew it had to be special. It’s got one of my favourite ever lines, which is 'what is the future of the future/when memory fades and gets boarded up'.

"We’ve long been obsessed with writing something like Ashes to Ashes; I think this is the closest we’ll ever get”.

The Manics play the Belfast leg of the BBC's Biggest Weekend later this month.

    Julie AdenugaImage source, Getty Images

As one of the three main DJs on Apple's radio station Beats 1, Julie Adenuga has become one of the most influential taste-makers in the UK.

She also happens to be the younger sister of grime stars Skepta and JME.

She's told our music reporter Mark Savage she has stopped listening to the hundreds of songs she gets sent every day, because she was losing her "natural connection to the music".

"I missed having actual moments with music," she said.

"I made a point of not looking for new music any more. I made a point of allowing it to find me."

    DJ KhaledImage source, Getty Images

The Miami-based DJ and producer has just notched up his first billion views for one of his music videos on YouTube.

It's for his all-star collab I'm The One which featured Justin Bieber, Quavo and Chance the Rapper - which sadly we can't bring you here due to potentially offensive language.

He's been joined by Ed Sheeran, whose track Perfect also joins the billion views club.

Ed's an old hand though as his videos for Thinking Out Loud and Shape of You have both previously reached the milestone.

Good work fellas and well worth shouting about... not that DJK needs much encouragement in that department.

The London singer, whose only album to date; I Cry When I Laugh, came out in 2015, has been teasing the release with a series of menacing videos of her on a horse and in an old car at a crossroads somewhere in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula.

While it feels like he is now occupying the slot of public enemy number one, he has at least found a soulmate in the form of the Biebs - who has had his own run-ins with the media and public at large.

He apparently posted a message on Instagram which read: “Our job is to love, not to always agree!”

First up today Bad Girl Ri Ri is on the new cover of tastemakers Vogue, talking about beauty, bodies and boys.

One of the boys in question is a certain Torontonian rapper and former beau of Rihanna's; Drake.

"We don't have a friendship now but we're not enemies either," she told the fashion mag.

    "It is what it is."

    Drake was clearly still hung up on the singer, referencing one of her tracks in his own song Diplomatic Immunity, earlier this year;

    “2010 was when Iost my Halo / 2017 I lost a J. Lo."

What a way to make two girls feel special, in one line.

Remember when Rihanna twerked into Drake on stage during a rather raunchy display at the 2016 Brits?

Well, it seems the singer, who is now reportedly seeing Saudi businessman Hassan Jameel, has now moved on.

Now after reaching a landmark age in February, are Rihanna's wild thoughts starting to turn towards family matters other than just boys and work, work, work?

    She asked:

    Quote Message

OK, so now that I'm 30, are there things I'm supposed to do? Should I be worried? Should I be freezing my eggs? What do you do at 30?!

Speculating on her potential pending motherhood, she added:

"I'm not gonna be able to take my eyes off my kid.

"I know that already about myself.

"They're going to have to force me to hire a nanny."

Barbadian Rihanna will release the follow-up to her 2016 album, Anti, this year, which is apparently inspired by another famous Caribbean singer; the late, great Bob Marley.

It's been produced by Supa Dups, who has previously worked with reggae dance hall acts Beenie Man and Sean Paul.

    Vogue asked her therefore to name her Bob Marley reggae faves and here's what she plumped for;

“I’m gonna sound like a real tourist when I tell you my top Bob songs; Three Little Birds, No Woman, No Cry, and Redemption Song."

    Can't argue with that.

Read more, external of the interview, which includes Rihanna talking about body image and of course plugging her many various products.

Quiz: Why is Rihanna a 'positive role model'?

The 2015 Glastonbury headliner spoke to Radio 1's Annie Mac about her memories of topping the bill, after Foo Fighters pulled out, her battle to kick the booze and how it shaped her new album High As Hope in June.

Watch her above as she told Annie about being "high on high fives" following her barnstorming Worthy Farm set.

"It's interesting because I think I never knew how to come down after a tour before, so I would just go on a massive bender.

"And I wasn't doing that so I just went straight back in the studio."

Flo has also released a new song in time for this week's New Music Friday and you can check out Hunger below as she sings about the universal appetite to be loved.
