The pop megastars are being sued by Yasminah, a Somali-American activist, poet, writer and musician - according to a new report in TMZ.

It says the singer has taken legal action claiming their global hit, below, was a rip-off of her earlier song Hooyo, which you can hear above.

She says the tracks share the same hook, same key, and similar tempo and feature a prominent clap on the second and fourth beats.

When she's not busy having number one hits and designing clothing and lingerie and employing women with diverse body shapes to model them, Rihanna is passionate about education.

In an new op ed piece for the Guardian, she wrote: "I’m not ashamed to say I’m still learning.

"I’ve grown tremendously as an individual through my formal education as well as the global education I have received by travelling the world through music."

The singer and philanthropist - who launched her own global scholarship fund - admits finding her own schooldays in Barbados "a grind".

But she added, "In other parts of the world, conflict, poverty, deeply ingrained sexism, and bad public policy keep more than a quarter of a billion children and teens, external from getting an education."

Post Malone's not been too lucky recently.

You know, when you take away the platinum-selling album and estimated £5m fortune.

First, the rapper was involved in a plane emergency when two tyres of his private jet blew out on the runway.

A few days later, his old house was reportedly broken into by gun-toting invaders.

A week after that, he was involved in a car crash when his Rolls Royce collided with another car.

Now, some fans think they might have found the reason behind this spate of bad luck: the 23-year-old's been cursed by a haunted box (below).

A minute-long black-and-white silent video - released by TMZ - explains all, apparently.

Ask Billy Lockett about the sound he's trying to create and he explains that recently he's been able to develop it from something "which is less sitting down crying and more standing up and singing".

"It was very a stripped back piano and vocals," he explains backstage at the Wilderness festival, "mainly because I didn't have any money and I was in a cellar in my house in Northampton with a laptop and a mic.

"Now I've had the chance to wrote in the studio with bigger producers and had available drums and synths and things."

The Northampton-born singer-songwriter first arrived in 2016 with his debut EP Burn It Down.

He cites Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi as an early influence "because his music, even though it doesn't have any vocals, is very melodic and interesting".

But his latest tracks, like the Bastille-inspired My Only Soul is a perfect example of Billy's knack for combining sorrowful lyrics with singalong choruses and a more uptempo feel.

Fading into Grey, while still a song about a relationship ending, is given an uplifting power chord makeover, like a London Grammar song, sung in a lower register.

"When I wrote the sad songs, I was in a bad place," he says. "My dad had died and I wrote songs about how I felt but that was three years ago and I'm quite happy now and I want my music to reflect who I am and it does.

"So as things get better, the songs are happier which is great because I didn't want to make people cry any more."

Billy has been championed by BBC Music Introducing and earlier this month, was announced as the support for ELO's UK and Ireland stadium tour.

It's another high profile support slot having already opened for Lana Del Rey.

"That was pretty special although we didn't even have a dressing room, we just got ready in a corridor in the back," he laughs.

"I never even got to meet her. I'd see her occasionally but it was an amazing experience because it was the first time I'd seen a crowd that size and they were just a sea - it stopped looking like people and was just a kind of beige colour."

And he didn't take the Lana snub personally.

"it was an amazing feeling, I'm very grateful. she's busy man, she's super busy."

Although he sees himself as a classic singer songwriter in the mould of an artist like Bon Iver and is becoming ever more involved in the production of his music, Billy adds we should not expect something as experimental as Justin Vernon's 2016 album 22, A million.

"That's an amazing record but I don't get it, " he insist. "I listened over and over again to it and I was like, 'I bet this is cool'.

"I know that it might not sound cool to say but I like a song, I like melodies and a chorus and verses.

"I've been writing songs for eight or nine years and I know how I want songs to sound. There's nothing better that putting out a song that you love and respect and it does well and you're like, 'Yes, I knew it was right'.

They kicked off with Eighteen from their debut album, My Mind Makes Noises and followed it up with an indie pop rock rendition of Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa's summer smash, One Kiss.

Summer must be over if thoughts are turning to New Year's Eve already...

Kendal Calling have announced their first ever NYE party at Manchester's Victoria Warehouse with local indie trio Everything Everything set to headline.

Tom Grennan is also on the bill alongside a "very special guest" and tickets go on sale on Friday - if you're able to think that far ahead.

EE are up for the Mercury Prize this week for their album, A Fever Dream.

The event, which takes place on 8-10 November at Tobacco Dock, London will aim to help budding artists and others wishing to get ahead in the music industry to gather top tips and collect cracking contacts.

The likes of You Me At Six, Tom Grennan, and The Amazons will all be knocking about to share their pearls of wisdom, as well as Paul Smith of Maximo Park, Speech Debelle, Novelist and lots of BBC DJs including Annie Mac, Steve Lamacq and Lauren Laverne.

But it's not all work chat and no play... It's now been announced that Ben Howard and Marika Hackman will provide the soundtrack to the Thursday evening too, with live performances.

DJ Semtex has announced that he is to leave the Beeb after 15 years service.

The 1xtra DJ said it was "time for me to say goodbye", describing his time on the station as "an amazing experience",

He went on: "I have the deepest gratitude for the entire 1xtra family past and present. Thank you to every artist that has shared their music or story with me on air. Infinite love, respect, and thanks to the listeners."

The hip hop enthusiast and radio show host chose to sign off his farewell using "the immortal words of Donald Glover;

“Endings are good because they force things to get better.”

The station thanked Semtex "for all the hip hop you've supported".

Further tributes were led by comic grime star Michael Dapaah - aka Big Shaq.

A string of local councils have decided to overturn a film's 15 age rating so younger viewers can watch it.

Eight local authorities have given the documentary A Northern Soul a 12A rating for screenings in their areas.

The film follows Steve, who struggles to make ends meet as he tries to teach hip-hop to children in Hull schools with his Beats Bus.

The British Board of Film Classification said it includes "around 20 uses of strong language and therefore exceeds by some margin anything we have ever permitted at 12A".

Director Sean McAllister complained that its "raw depiction of poverty" in Hull had been censored.

"I think they're responding as human beings," Sean told BBC News.

Local councils have the power to overrule the BBFC and licensing committees in Hull, Lambeth, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, Southampton, Hackney and Calderdale have downgraded A Northern Soul from a 15 to a 12A.

The singer released True Meanings, his fourteenth studio album on Friday and has been taking part in a webchat for the Guardian newspaper.

Asked about with whom he'd most like to collaborate, the Modfather said his first choice was the rapper, singer and producer.

"Pharrell Williams. I never will do but in a fantasy world I'd like to work with him. He's so clever, musically, and I reckon we could do something good together."

Weller also dismissed a suggestion to tour an entire album from start to finish, saying he would feel limited.

He also said he;s looking forward to watching Toy Story 4.

Yeezy has posted a picture of a minidisc with the words 'Yandhi 9 29 18' (that's 29 September or a week on Saturday).

The artwork (below) is very similar to his Yeezus album, which was released in 2013.

We can't find any translation of the word 'Yandhi' but it looks like it is pronounced similarly to the Hindi word for 'storm' - which would seen appropriate given his recent dealings with the press and social media.

Either that or it could be a play on the name Gandhi with Kanye perhaps comparing himself to the Indian human rights leader, in much the same way that Yeezus was a play on the name Jesus.

Kanye released Ye earlier this summer - the first of seven albums which he produced for the likes of Pusha T, Nas and Teyana Taylor.

He's also been working on a new record with another famous Chicagoan rapper Chance, who tweeted this below, suggesting their album will be called "good ass job".

Are they talking about the same album or can we expect two albums in the pipeline?

Looks like we'll find out by the end of the month.

The 70th Emmy Awards, which celebrates the best of US TV, took place last night in Los Angeles and kicked off with a star-studded song commenting on (the lack of) diversity in the industry.

Saturday Night Live’s Kate McKinnon and Kenan Thompson led the opening skit, called Solved It, which featured a cameo from Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin - representing the Latino community - and newly-minted EGOTJohn Legend, either side of the 'one of each dancers', who were "ticking each box."

The satire comes after the #OscarsSoWhite movement and you can watch it above.

Elsewhere on the night, one of the cult characters from Donald Glover's Emmy-nominated second series of Atlanta, Teddy Perkins, also put in an appearance, to the excitement of some online.

The creepy character was played by Glover himself, wearing "white-face", in one of the most acclaimed episodes of the series.

We couldn't possibly speculate as to whether they are off or back on again but Noah and L.Xan are certainly getting cosy and singing/rapping sweet nothings into one another's ears in the video for Live or Die.

Rapper Lil Xan recently told Billboard, external the track is one of three potential collaborations with Miley's younger sister, which are set to appear on his and her forthcoming albums, respectively.
