Who are we to argue with Sir Elt?

He's been speaking on his Rocket Hour show on Beats 1 about the many various stars who have covered his tracks on new album Revamp.

Miley took on the classic Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me and it's fair to say that the man who sang the original is a fan.

He said: "In my opinion, she’s the sexiest lady in the whole wide world.

    Quote Message

She’s 25 years of age, and boy is she sexy, and boy is she talented, and boy do I love her.

He went on to describe Lady Gaga - who sang Your Song - as "one of the loyalist, most wonderful people and most talented people I’ve ever met".

    As for Ed Sheeran, who did his own version of Candle in the Wind;

"I didn’t think anyone would tackle it, but Ed Sheeran had the balls to do it."

And we thought Ed had enough on his *plate.

*Scroll down if you don't get that joke.

Mariah Carey can be found on the cover of this week's PEOPLE, external speaking out about her personal struggles with mental health.

The singer was first diagnosed in 2001, when she was admitted to hospital for a physical and mental breakdown.

Mariah said “Until recently I lived in denial and isolation and in constant fear someone would expose me.

    Quote Message

It was too heavy a burden to carry and I simply couldn’t do that anymore. I sought and received treatment, I put positive people around me and I got back to doing what I love - writing songs and making music.

Mariah is in a much better place now and is happy to speak out to hopefully lift the stigma around mental health issues.

    Quote Message

I’m just in a really good place right now, where I’m comfortable discussing my struggles with bipolar II disorder... It can be incredibly isolating. It does not have to define you and I refuse to allow it to define me or control me.”

  5. Our Girl put out new single and we Really Like Itpublished at 14:31 BST 11 April 2018

It's produced by former Coral guitarist Bill Ryder-Jones and it's the second taste of their forthcoming debut album.

Frontwoman Soph Nathan, who, as you know, moonlights as lead guitarist in Mercury-nominated band The Big Moon said: "I’d never written about love in this way before. It has the inevitable moments of craziness and longing that can come with falling in love, but mainly it’s just a really happy song."

Now this picture has caused quite a stir online.

It shows Paris and mum Debbie Rowe embracing, with her father - the King of Pop - skilfully edited into the group hug in the background.

People's main issue seems to be the fact that Michael and Debbie were embroiled in a custody battle over Paris and her brother Prince Michael after their $10m divorce in 1999.

Ten years ago, Lady Leshurr would've been considered a rapper, pure and simple.

But today, the 29-year-old's hugely successful online videos make her difficult to categorise.

"I never thought I'd be classed as a YouTuber, but I guess I am technically," she tells BBC News.

"YouTube has done everything for my career."

Leshurr (whose stage name is a play on her real name, Malesha O'Garro, and nothing to do with being a lady of leisure) is gearing up to release her debut album this year after releasing a string of hugely popular online videos.

Just a few years ago, the Birmingham-born star was an underground rapper - you'd have been more likely to catch her playing small gigs or releasing mixtapes than uploading YouTube clips.

But then, she launched her Queen's Speech series - a string of videos, inspired by battle rap, each filmed in one continuous take.

"I never expected Queen's Speech to do what it did," Leshurr says.

    Quote Message

I took a year out before I started those. I used to just fling out songs here and there, but I took a break, and started to get to know myself. Because, even though I had been doing music for ages, I didn't feel like I had a proper trademark sound.

"So I was watching a lot of people that came out in 2015, and I just realised what's missing from the music industry is fun. A sense of humour, like old-school Eminem."

This next one might make some of you (including us) blush a little but it's a good tune, so here we go...

Pynk is the third single from her forthcoming album Dirty Computer, which is out on 27 April.

The singer's rapid response was to arrange a benefit gig for the families, two weeks later, in the form of the One Love Manchester gig (above) which was watched my millions around the world.

    That's not our view.

That's the view of the US public who have given Drizzy his 24th top 10 hit, for his work on Migos's Walk It Talk It.

Sadly we can't bring that video to you here due to the language but you can find it online.

The Toronto singer/rapper moves ahead of The Beatles legend into fifth on the list of solo males with the most top 10 hits stateside.

So - as you can see below - Drake now has Elvis and another Sir; Elton John, in his sights.

Sir Macca's old pals Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson have nothing to worry about just yet and quite frankly Jay-Z needs to raise his game.

    Strong list though.

    Sir Paul McCartney

*We should point out that McCartney did make the top 10 on 34 other occasions with the Fab Four, second only to Madonna's 38 overall.

But those Beatles bangers count for nothing in this list, which seems unfair given that Drake's latest appearance is a cameo.

Check out the full list below.

Most Hot 100 Top 10s Among Solo Males

    29 - Michael Jackson

    28 - Stevie Wonder

    27 - Elton John

    25 - Elvis Presley

    24 - Drake

    23 - Paul McCartney

    21 - JAY-Z

  13. Coachella Festival is being suedpublished at 11:11 BST 11 April 2018

    CoachellaImage source, Getty Images

As Billboard reports , externala festival in Oregon is suing the mammoth Californian music festival Coachella over their five state, 1,300 mile radius clause in the contracts they issue to artists.

The founders and organisers of Soul'd Out Music Festival; Nicholas Harris & Haytham Adbdulhadi, claim they approached several acts to play their event this year and many declined due to the Coachella radius clause, which runs from December until May - a month after the festival - and prevents them from playing at nearby events.

They argue it creates "an illegal monopoly in the market for live music festival performances."

Lawyer Nicholas F. Aldrich also points out that the radius clause agreements could damage smaller cities and festival programmers and doesn't provide many benefits to Coachella since the event always sells out months in advance anyway.

Coachella is notoriously one of the biggest festivals in the world and it would seem they provide the fees to match...

We all know Cardi B makes money moves, and there she is (above) revealing to American radio station Sirius XM that a tidy $70,000 will be dropped into her bank account for each of her performances at the festival.

The event stretches over two separate weekends so sounds like CB will be getting a cool $140,000 - which she'll need for when the baby arrives.

Artists don't normally reveal how much they're making from the festival but this is Cardi B... she makes her own rules.

She's also being telling US radio station Hot 97, external that her fiance Offset from Migos is "not a deadbeat", whatever people might say.

Cardi said: "You know, I'm getting married. Everybody wants to joke around; 'Oh you're the fourth baby mama,' this, this and that, but I'm getting married.

"And even though so, let's say God forbid we don't, my man is a great father to his kids, so I will never lose. I'm not having a baby with a deadbeat."

Headlining Coachella this year are The Weeknd, Beyoncé and Eminem, with the former two streaming their sets live on Youtube.

Aaah those where the days, when chart battles made the actual news., external

If you've been splashing out on new music lately (streaming counts too, don't forget) then rest assured that you've helped the nation's music industry revenue grow back to Britpop levels.

Revenue for UK record companies in 2017 notched up levels of growth not seen since the mid 90's Oasis/Blur/Pulp/Elastica boom, according to industry association the BPI.

Combined takings from streaming, downloads, physical sales and licensing for use in films, TV and computer games rose 10.6% to £839m.

The main contributor to growth was streaming, which increased by 41.1% thanks to the likes of Ed Sheeran, Stormzy and Little Mix.

Revenues from streaming reached £388.8m, overtaking those from physical formats (£310.4m) for the first time. However, revenue from the sale of vinyl records rose 24%, meaning that the market for vinyl is now one-fifth of the size of the CD market.

This current rate of growth in the music industry's income is the fastest since 1995, when revenues increased by 10.7% off the back of bangers like the one below, which celebrates its 24th birthday today too.

    Whoops.

So Ed was coy with our reporters on The Brits red carpet recently as to whether or not he'd be invited to the forthcoming Royal wedding.

Basically he said he'd be playing a gig in Ireland anyway that weekend and also hadn't been invited... yet.

    We weren't convinced.

Now a right royal mix-up has seen the singer confused with the groom-to-be and fellow red head Prince Harry, on a rather funny 'alternative commemorative royal wedding plate'.

Prince Harry (or Henry - as the keen-eyed among you will have spotted above) and Meghan Markle get hitched on 19 May and the above souvenir plate was being sold on the Etsy, external website for £25, until it sold out just a few minutes ago.

As you can see former royal chef Darren McGrady (above) saw the funny side.

“Loving all the #PrinceHarry and #MeghanMarkle memorabilia,” he tweeted.

“Just think some companies should do a little more research first.”

    Ed SheeranImage source, Getty Images

As the Daily Mail, external reports, the seller has since explained that the picture was "entirely deliberate" and references a previous merchandise muck-up.

"I bought a Kate/Wills mug when they got married and when it arrived, it was a pic of Harry instead of William.

"It inspired me to do something similar... and when I was thinking of a random redhead, I thought Ed would be perfect. It's been pretty popular!'".

Earlier in the week Ipswich Hospital reviewed its policy of care given to "high profile" patients after singer Ed Sheeran was treated there for a broken arm.

Morning all and welcome back aboard the good ship music news.

We've reserved you your usual table with a sea view.

On today's menu we have Drake becoming officially bigger than Sir Paul McCartney, Ed Sheeran being mistaken for Prince Harry on a Royal Wedding plate (whoops) and Cardi B insisting that she's not having a baby with "a Deadbeat".

The New York rapper also reveals what Californian festival Coachella are paying her to perform this weekend and a man says he robbed a bank to impress Taylor Swift.

    That don't impress us much.

Plus on the specials board today is new music from the likes of Chvrches and Janelle Monae and the fastest growth in UK record label income since Britpop for desert.

So get yourselves sat down and enjoy your starter of Kylie Minogue (above) performing her new track on The One Show earlier this week and we shall be back with a buffet of music news shortly.
