So everybody knows by now that the California girl band's family and the film director go way back, right?

Back to the good old San Fernando Valley.

Fun fact: The Haim girls mum (or Mom) used to teach the Boogie Nights / Magnolia / There Will Be Blood / Phantom Thread director.

Well if you didn't... Consider yourself schooled - as Paul was by Mama Haim all those years ago.

Anderson has since directed several of the band's music videos, including Little of your Love (above). Now they'll collaborate live at Coachella Festival in their home state later this month.

The festival runs over two weekends from 13-22 April, with Beyonce, Eminem and The Weeknd taking the headline slots. But as Pitchfork, external reports, Haim's performance could be set to be another highlight, as it will include live visuals from you know who.

So on the off the off chance that you're going to Cali-forn-iyay next week then look out for that.

We are in no way jealous.

Headlines you never thought you'd write #324

The US slacker rock cult hero has posted a video of a mystery cat called Pickles, who apparently "lives behind the garage" on Youtube, accompanied by some rather funky experimental jazz (which is not a world away from some of Jack White's latest album).

We can't confirm whether or not this is Mac playing but his last album from 2017 was entitled This Old Dog, so maybe Pickles was feeling a little left out.

    Understandably.

Pickles certainly knows where the camera is, that's for sure.

Gary, who has written with Taylor Swift and Harry Styles, as well as for his own band, said his most recent episode of depression triggered a four-year period of writer's block.

That resulted in a seven-year gap between Snow Patrol albums - but the group recently returned with the aptly-titled single Don't Give In (above), which precedes the band's forthcoming seventh album, Wildness.

More from that new Jay-Z Netflix special now.

Following Jay bigging up fellow rappers Eminem and Snoop yesterday, the channel has released a clip of him talking about his tears of joy when his mum first told him she was gay last year.

"I was so happy for her that she was free," the rapper told David Letterman on his new series My Next Guest...

The New York hip hop raps about the moment in the song Smile, on his latest album 4:44, which he says he wrote the very next day.

The lyrics read; "Mama had four kids, but she's a lesbian / Had to pretend so long that she's a thespian. Had to hide in the closet, so she medicate / Society shame and the pain was too much to take."

The Radiohead frontman is continuing his unrelenting campaign of opaque tweets with this latest one below.

He writes about his open mind being "crushed and faded".

Are they song lyrics or perhaps thoughts about the 45th President of the United states with phrases about "the wall" being "tall and black and white" and "a megaphone is conversation" - which goes a way to describing Donald Trump's method of communication.

They join earlier crackers like "I've noticed that the words are all fake" and "brutalised".

Earlier this month, he announced plans for a European solo tour in 2018, including dates in Edinburgh, London and Manchester.

The US talk show - hosted by Jimmy Fallon - has never had a co-host in its long 64 year history.

    Until now.

So it's fitting that the record-breaking rapper has been chosen as Jimmy's first ever sidekick for the historic show on Monday 9 April.

She then became the first female hip hop artist to have their first three singles in top ten at the same time.
