The xx leader-in-chief has provided the soundtrack for The World Is Yours by filmmakers and video director Romain Gavras which has premiered at Cannes.

You might remember Gavras' work with M.I.A - he directed the controversial promo for Born Free and Bad Girls.

Jamie's bandmate Romy posted the short video (above) of the band taking a speedboat off the Cote D'Azure, presumably to the film's premiere.

"Congratulations to you champ," she wrote. "Loved getting to see it with you in Cannes, so glam."

While everybody else is going Royal wedding crazy, The Charlatans are hosting their own special event in Northwich,

    Quote Message

It's a place that none of us were from but we all met in a record shop in a high street in 1989. We just fell back in love with the place and decided we should do a couple of shows.

    Listen above.

If, like Elton John, you're not lucky enough to be in the Northwich area this weekend, you can still stream the band's live show on Saturday night.
