The Scots electro-rockers have paid a visit to Clara Amfo in the Radio 1 studios for a chat and a play of their new track Get Out, plus of course a cover of their choice.

They plumped for Matt Healy's band's Somebody Else and by all accounts smashed it.

George Evans on Instagram seems to think so.

He bumped into Matt Helders in Aslan's Kebabs in his native Sheffield and confirmed the drummer "likes cheesy chips and gravy" and told him to expect their sixth studio album in two months time.

We last heard from the Monkeys in 2013 with AM and Helders has since been moonlighting as Iggy Pop's drummer.

But now their summer schedule is filling up nicely with dates around the globe but TRNSMT is Glasgow remains the only UK date... so far.

The Afrofuturistic singer-songwriter is coming back with a brand new album next month, her first in five years.

It's called Dirty Computer, and Music News LIVE was lucky enough to attend a top secret playback of the new album earlier this week.

Trust us - it's brilliant. She has already shared two new tracks from the album Django Jane and Hottest Record, the Prince-infused The Way You Make Me Feel.

Now, speaking to 6 Music, she explains how different the new work is from her 2010 debut concept album The Archandroid, with its central character - Cindi Mayweather.

If you haven't already heard it then the above clip might not make much sense to you but we'd urge you to check it out.

"I knew that I want to make this album but I knew it would take a deeper level of honesty and vulnerability," she says.

Here's one for all you gamers out there...

When he's not busy dishing out millions of dollars to fans, Canadian superstar Drake loves a good old gaming session.

Now, a team-up between Drizzy and top Fortnite player Ninja has broken the record for the most people watching an individual's Twitch stream (that's people watching other people playing games, to the rest of us).

More than 600,000 people tuned in to watch the pair play the survival co-op shooting game on the streaming service. Later on, the two were also joined b fellow rapper Travis Scott and NFL player JuJu Smith-Schuster.

The event still fell shy of the overall record for the most people watching a Twitch stream, which is 1.1 million.

The piano-playing legend has announced a new album, Revamp, which will see the great and good of pop/rock, including Ed, Coldplay, Miley, Pink and Florence + The Machine reinterpret some of his classic songs.

Elton, who co-wrote his hits with collaborator Bernie Taupin, said: "It's always a huge compliment when an artist loves your song enough to take the time and effort to rework it.

He added: "It means that our music is still relevant and ultimately that our songs continue to reach new audiences."

The Killers, Lady Gaga and Queens of the Stone Age are also among the artists involved in the album, which will come out on 6 April.

Miley was on hand to sing his 70s classic, The Bitch is Back, on a televised tribute to Sir Elton, recorded ahead of the Grammys.

However she'll be slowing it down a notch on the album with a rendition of Don't Let The Sun Go Down on Me.

But what will Q-Tip and Demi Lovato duetting on Don't Go Breaking My Heart sound like? Well your guess is as good as ours.

The One Direction heart-throb set more hearts aflutter this week (of all sexes and genders) when he performed his new track Medicine during a gig in Paris on Tuesday night.

The track apparently contains the lyrics: The boys and the girls are in / I’ll mess around with them / And I’m OK with it

Harry, who has been in public relationships with the likes of Taylor Swift, Kendall Jenner and Caroline Flack, has never officially put a label on his sexuality... nor should be be expected to.

Nevertheless, social media has been quick to react.

Rog called Radio 2 Brekkie show host Chris Evans this morning from rainy San Fransisco with a world exclusive play of his first solo music in 26 years.

"I've gone back to making the kind of music that The Who used to do before we did Pete Townshend songs" he joked.

"Which were kind of soul gospel-y lillte coutnry songs."

Roger, who this week urged rock 'n' roll fans to look after their ears by wearing ear-plugs at gigs will be performing tracks from his new album and a few Who classics at the Royal Albert Hall on 22 March in aid of The Teenage Cancer Trust.

His old pal Pete features on the album, which is out on 1 June and ensured that it got done.

"I thought the album was rubbish... but Pete encouraged me to finish it."

It's never too early to have a sneaky watch of a new music video... or two.

So here's the latest from Arcade Fire in the form of their new two track short film Money + Love.

The video is co-written by the band themselves and stars Oscar-nominated actress Toni Collette as an Everything Now corporate executive making a deal with the band for just "98% of future earnings".

The film combines two songs from their recent Everything Now album; Put Your Money on Me and We Don't Deserve Love

It's an epic 15 minutes long so make sure you go to the toilet first.

Next up is from Derek Smalls - the "luke warm water" between the fire and ice of his Spinal Tap bandmates.

The video for his solo song It Don't Get Old, taken from his new album, has cameos from the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers' drummer Chad Smith.

OK, part two of Katy Perry news today.

As well as supporting US students (scroll down), KP has been encouraging would-be pop stars in her weekend job as a judge on the new American Idol.

Encouraging them perhaps a little too much for some people.

Contestant Benjamin Glaze has revealed to the New York Times, external that he "was a tad bit uncomfortable" when the I Kissed a Girl, external singer planted a surprise kiss on his lips, after he revealed to the panel - including Lionel Richie - that he had never been kissed and was waiting for his first girlfriend.

"I wanted to save it for my first relationship. I wanted it to be special," the 20-year-old told the US paper.

Watch above to see the then-19-year-old cashier from Oklahoma who is clearly uncomfortable with the whole scene, taken from this week's series premiere.

The clip has caused many to question what the verdict would be had this been a 33-year-old male judge treating a teenage female contestant in the same way.

Katy however seems to have seen the funny side of it.

Thousands of American students walked out of schools yesterday in order to demand greater protection and a change in gun control legislation.

The National School Walkout marked exactly one month since a 19-year-old former student shot and killed 17 people in a school in Parkland, Florida.

The likes of Miley Cyrus, Liam Gallagher, Katy Perry, Garbage and Paramore have been showing their support online for the protesters.

Miley said she was "proud of all of you", while Liam gave his "respect", declaring that "enough is enough".

KP showed her support, pointing to a follow-up march on the capital later this month and Garbage used a poo emoji to show what they think about US President Donald Trump's suggestion that arming teachers would put an end to school shootings.

Kate Nash and Best Coast also tweeted in solidarity with the students, who walked out of classrooms at 10am for 17 minutes to show solidarity with the 17 victims of the attack at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in February.

Students in Washington DC held 17 minutes of silence, while chants of "not one more" were heard all around.
