  2. Teen dumps boyfriend using music streaming playlistpublished at 15:33 BST 10 April 2017

    BBC Newsbeat

Now this next entry is not big or clever...in fact it's pretty mean.

    But it is very funny.

US Student and One Direction fan Kirsten Titus has created her own bespoke playlist to inform her now ex-boyfriend that their relationship had come to an end.

    James ArthurImage source, Getty Images

Using 10 song titles from a variety of artists, including Ed Sheeran and James Arthur (above), the 19-year-old made a sentence to let her bae know that the end was in sight.

The full sentence reads: "Do You Still Want To Kiss Me Because I Am Kinda Lovin Someone Else But We Can Still Be Friends."

10/10 for creativity. Zero for compassion.

    Well that ship has sailed.

The Chic guitarist was handed the Award for Musical Excellence by uber-fan Pharrell Williams at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame show from the weekend.

You may remember the pair worked together along with French electro-pioneers Daft Punk on the total earworm of a track Get Lucky, external from 2013.

When receiving the award, Nile said: "They just told me a couple of months ago that I've sold over 300 million albums and 75 million singles...

"I just wanted to have one hit record."

    He added:

    Quote Message

This award, which is amazing to me, is really because of all the people that have allowed me to come into their lives and just join their band.

"Be it Mick Jagger, be it Madonna, be it Duran Duran, be it Daft Punk, be it Pharrell Williams, be it Diana Ross, be it Sister Sledge. I mean it just goes on and on and on. Thank you all."

Pharrell said of his idol and recent-collaborator: "Nile has taught me the value of being one part of a bigger whole, the value of humanity and humility, the value of sacrificing yourself for the song.

"It (Get Lucky) was the first time I worked with Nile physically, but spiritually he's been in the studio with me for more than 25 years."

The legendary axeman and producer spoke to US music mag Rolling Stone afterwards about how he wishes his Chic bandmates had been up there being recognised with him, how he knew Tupac's mum and how "everything is rock & roll".

Probably not but that didn't stop his vociferous fanbase venting spleen on the streaming service at the weekend after his new track Sign Of The Times disappeared on Friday morning.

The track got its first play on the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show .

But for several hours, when fans searched for "Harry Styles" on Spotify the song didn't appear in the results...despite the fact it was also supposed to be on their New Music Friday playlist.

They just prefer you that way.

The Brighton indie rockers are back with a new track, taken from their forthcoming retrospective Best Of...So Far record.

They've just dropped the video for Be Who You Are, in which Luke and the gang attempt to break the world record for the number of different Marrakech locations you can play guitar in, in one single video.

Hillside, down by the river, by the pool, in the riad... even up on the rooftop.

You name it, they've played it.

And they're playing in a town somewhere near you as of next week on their UK tour.

The new Gorillaz album is set to drop in a few weeks before the band put on their own Demon Dayz festivals.

But prolific song-writer Damon Albarn is already planning the next thing.
