We'll leave you with that time Big Narstie met Big Ed on his big new chat show.

We say meets but the pair are old pals, having previously appeared together on a charity version of Gogglebox.

The grime star's new Channel 4 chat shows starts on Friday night and he regaled the studio audience of that time when Ed drove to his home in Brixton, south London, in his flash motor.

    Safe as houses , Ed.

See you tomorrow for New Music Friday.

Fiddy seems to be unrepentant over the social media backlash to his jokey tweet about Brooklyn 99 actor Terry Crews' sexual assualt.

He deleted the original tweet but has since posted another one (above) is which he jokes about "having my sense of humour removed".

Some followers called the rapper's post "disgusting".

  3. Kendrick Lamar suggests white people should not use the N-wordpublished at 15:36 BST 28 June 2018

... even when reciting his lyrics

    Kendridck LamarImage source, Getty Images

The Compton rapper made the news last month when he stopped a white fan in her tracks - after inviting her to join him onstage - because she repeatedly used the N-word while rapping along, verbatim, to the opening lines to his track m.A.A.d. City.

The fan in question, known as Delaney, was booed by many in the crowd at Hangout Festival in Alabama, after Kendrick told her: "You gotta bleep one single word."

Others, however, felt she might have been dealt with somewhat harshly given the context of the hip hop gig.

Now Ken has been speaking about the topic to Vanity Fair and suggested that white folk will simply have to take this one on the chin.

    He said:

    Quote Message

Let me put it to you in its simplest form. I’ve been on this earth for 30 years, and there’s been so many things a Caucasian person said I couldn’t do. Get good credit.

    Quote Message

Buy a house in an urban city. So many things — 'you can’t do that' — whether it’s from afar or close up. So if I say this is my word, let me have this one word, please let me have that word.

Earlier in the year, Lamar won the Pulitzer Prize for music, becoming the first non-classical or jazz artist to collect the award.

The 31-year-old told the US publication that to be recognised by top scholars was beyond his wildest dreams.

He added: "It was one of those things I heard about in school, but I never thought I’d be a part of it. I thought, to be recognized in an academic world…whoa, this thing really can take me above and beyond."

Earlier, we told you how three of the four original members of TSP had got the old band back together last night for the first time in a long time.

Their third studio album, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, was viewed by many as perhaps their finest work.

Last night, in LA they dusted of a few classics including one of the album singles Tonight, Tonight.

So for this week's #TBT let's go back to 1995 to a much more simple time and when bass player D'arcy Wretzky was still welcome in the Chicago band.

When they first emerged in 2016, people apparently didn't get didn't get Norwich alt-pop duo Rosa Walton and Jenny Hollingworth's sense of humour.

"They thought everything we did was serious," Jenny tells our music reporter Mark Savage.

Songs with titles like Eat Shiitake Mushrooms and theatrical live shows, external which saw them screaming in unison and lying prostrate on the stage, didn't help.

The Guardian called them "freaky teenagers", while Vice branded their music "weirdo pop". They were compared to characters from The Shining and The Ring.

"Was it frustrating? Yes," says Rosa. "It felt like everything was a bit 'novelty act'.

"Now we've done a second record, that's starting to change."

  16. Dr Dre and Jimmy Iovine get landed with a $25m billpublished at 10:30 BST 28 June 2018

Dr Dre and Jimmy IovineImage source, Getty Images

The rapper and fellow music mogul/business partner Jimmy Iovine have been ordered to pay $25.2m (£19.2m) to a former partner in their headphone company, Beats.

Steven Lamar claimed credit for the idea of creating a brand of celebrity-endorsed headphones.

He took the idea to Dre and Iovine in 2006 and the first Beats headphones were released two years later, based on a design by Robert Brunner.

The parties later fell out, and Lamar sued over unpaid royalties in 2016.

At the centre of their dispute was a 2007 settlement, in which Dre and Iovine agreed to pay Lamar 4% of the base price of every headphone they sold.

Only one model, Beats Studio, was specified but Lamar argued the design had been carried over to a dozen different models, and sought $130m (£99m) in royalties.

A jury in Los Angeles decided that three pairs of headphones - the Studio 2 Remastered, the Studio 2 Wireless and the Studio 3 - had design similarities; and ordered that Dre and Iovine should pay Lamar $25,247,350.

Poor Dua left the stage in tears on Tuesday night, three songs into her gig in Denver, due to a "quite painful ear infection, external".

You can watch the heart-breaking video above.

She's since tweeted an update to thank fans for their well wishes and says she's "still upset" about letting them down but is thankfully "on the mend".

The 22-year-old says she hopes to "be back to myself very soon."

On the off chance that you were at the curtailed Colorado show, it will apparently be rescheduled.

  18. Wireless Festival to host all-woman stage following criticismpublished at 09:44 BST 28 June 2018

The Wireless Festival in London is hosting an all-female stage next month following criticism over the lack of women in the original line-up.

When the first 37 artists were announced in January - only three were women - Mabel (pictured above), Cardi B and Lisa Mercedez.

Cardi has since pulled out for obvious reasons (which if you don't know, scroll down dear reader).

Now more than 25 female artists will appear on an alternative stage.

"Shame it's a response to something negative, but it's 100% positive and progressive," says DJ Emerald, who is one of the acts performing.

Bad Gyal, Paigey Cakey and Barely Legal are among some of the other confirmed artists.

The pregnant New York rapper has thanked friends and family for attending her baby shower.

Cardi posted the above pic of her and hubby (as it turned out this week) Offset from rap outfit Migos giving her and the unborn bairn a protective squeeze.

The theme for the shindig was 'Bardi Shower: A Bronx Fairytale' - referring to Cardi's own hood.

"Thank you everybody for coming," wrote Cardi.

"I really appreciated with all my heart and will never forget ya !!

I haven't been able to open gifts today cause I haven't been feeling too good, tomorrow I will see !! Even this the best gift of all was your presence.

Assuming, like us, you weren't invited to the do in Offset's native Atlanta, Georgia you can at least see his cameo appearance in the Donald Glover TV show of the same name now on the BBC iPlayer.

    Morning all.

If, like Childish Gambino and DJ Khaled, you're still in your PJs (only joking guys, looking slick) then it's time to get up and get at 'em.

Some music news lines to look out for later

    • Cardi B throws a big baby shower
    • XXXTentacion's funeral and memorial is held
    • Dua Lipa updates fans after stopping a gig after three songs
    • Foo Fighter Taylor Hawkins recalls his 2001 overdose
    • Reaction to the death of Joe Jackson - the father of Michael and Janet
    • Wireless Festival is to have an all-female stage

First up today though Mr Gambino - aka actor Donald Glover has made a "public service announcement" video for the Time's Up movement.

Its purpose is to create a better understanding of "workplace rules of engagement" but it's also pretty funny too.

    Take heed below.
