OK that's it. We're off to get some supples in and settle down for Children in Need tonight, to start the weekend.

Katie Melua (above) will perform this year's official CiN track - a cover of Sting's Fields of Gold - so tune into BBC One from 19:00 GMT.

That gives you three hours to scroll back down this page and try out lots of new music from the likes of Demi Lovato, Sia, Tame Impala, Stefflon Don/Skepta and Noel Gallagher.

The latter also speaks to us about his 'cosmic' new record, Liam, U2 and how he invented The Scissor Queen (cutting edge stuff).

Plus 5 Things We Learnt This Week in Music News LIVE, which takes us from Bryan Adams to Miley Cyrus in just four moves.

Some said it couldn't be done.

Enjoy and see you next week for more.

And listen to three minutes of beautiful piano playing from Alexis Ffrench.

Radiate is part of a double A-side new release today, which also includes an early festive cover of the Judy Garland classic Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.

Sia's Christmas album (scroll down) was enough festive cheer for us though for one day in November.

Alexis will play the Royal Albert Hall's Elgar Room on Monday.

Watch above but we'd recommend you close your eyes, relax and just listen.

  3. Jools Holland releases new album with Jose Felicianopublished at 15:24 GMT 17 November 2017

    Jools Holland

Piano man and BBC presenter Jools Holland has a new album out today too.

As You See Me Now is a collab with Puerto Rican guitarist José Feliciano (below) and sees the pair dig deep into their record collections for covers of seminal artists like Stevie Wonder, Lead Belly and Percy Mayfield.

Jools said of Jose: "One of my greatest musical heroes musically for years and years… you put something in front of him and he just makes it sound better.

"When I first heard his music, it had the same effect on me as Ray Charles, The Beatles and Motown. Hearing José sing and play was like an arrow straight to my heart."

    Jose FelicianoImage source, Getty Images

José added: “We’ve become brothers, and for as long as I live I’ll never forget this moment, whether I do another record with him or whether I go on his TV show.

"The reason we work so well together is because his style of piano is my way of guitar playing. There’s no music we can’t play.”

They'll have to prove that tonight in Northampton and pretty much every night between now and Christmas on their UK tour.

Here they are on Later...with the man himself, performing You're So Cold with Rita Wilson.

  4. 5 Things We've Learned This Weekpublished at 15:11 GMT 17 November 2017

    Taylor SwiftImage source, Getty Images

It's that time of the week when we like to kick back, pour a brew and reflect on some of the most interesting, insightful or plain funny things that we've found out this week.

Things like Michael Buble announcing his first UK gig since taking a career break, or how this week's star of #NewbieTuesday Matt Maltese came to start playing music.

Or even how Pink came to own a pair of teeny, tiny leather pants sent by a rock star with a bouquet of flowers

    Here we go...

    Bryan AdamsImage source, Bryan Adams

    1) Mel C was not Bryan Adams' first choice for When You're Gone

Hey, we were as shocked as you were to find out the Spice Girl only appeared in the hit song because Sheryl Crow didn't call Bry back.

"When I was first doing it, I asked Sheryl Crow to do it and never heard back from her!," the Canadian singer told us.

"I was in LA at the time and got in the lift at the hotel and in walked Mel and I said 'hey Mel!' and she said 'Hi'.

"I said: 'We should sing something together' and she said 'I'd love to!'

"Then I said: 'I've got one for you!'"

    2) Do NOT mess with Brian May's social media accounts

Lest he bring the thunder gods down upon ye...

Brian was left fuming after a woman called Barbara caused the Queen guitarist's Instagram account to be temporarily suspended after she reported him for copyright violation.

He took a screen grab of the incident in a subsequent post to express his dis-May.

He posted the picture below with a lengthy lament, in which he concluded: "What an incredibly unfriendly act from you Barbara!"

We have no official confirmation that he was making the same face (above) but we like to think so.

    3) It takes Taylor Swift fewer than 100 hours to have the year's best selling album

The star's Reputation became the biggest-selling record of 2017 in the US in just four days.

Her sixth album sold 1.04 million copies, according to Billboard, putting her ahead of male BFF Ed Sheeran's ÷, which has sold just over 919,000 copies to date.

It's her fourth album to sell a million copies in the space of a week, following 1989, Red and Speak Now.

    4) Noel Gallagher will NEVER play with Oasis again

The revelation came during Noel's interview with Radio 4's Front Row about his new album, which you can read about (scroll down), due out next Friday.

Noel said his estranged brother's Liam's behaviour and the treatment of his family on social media has heightened his resolve to not reform the band.

"People are coming after my family - and one particular person has legitimised it" he said.

"And for that reason you've seen the last of Oasis"

    Miley Cyrus

    5) Miley says we are 'a step closer to world peace'

What could have prompted the announcement?

Well, it was the will of the Australian people who voted in favour of legalising same-sex marriage in a historic poll.

The postal vote was held to see if there was support to change the law.

Chuck Berry caused a storm in the 70s with his comedy song of the same name.

His Ding-A-Ling ended up making it into an episode of The Simpsons and now that cartoon cover has now been sampled on a new Hottest Record from two of the UK and London's biggest grime stars.

Miss Don spoke to Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac about how the mischievously-titled track with Skepta came about.

There's too much new music and too little time.

So to save yours, we've gathered together a handful of new releases and videos.

  10. Manics announce new album and arena tour for 2018published at 12:44 GMT 17 November 2017

Manic Street PreachersImage source, Getty Images

Well that one came out of nowhere!

Bassist Nicky Wire told BBC Music reporter Mark Savage only a few weeks ago at the Q Awards that he didn't know if the Welsh rockers would ever make another album again.

So either he was lying or they'll need to get a move on to get it ready in time for the 6 April release date.

Resistance Is Futile will be the Welsh band’s 13th studio album.

In a statement, referencing their back catalogue they said: “The main themes of Resistance is Futile are memory and loss; forgotten history; confused reality and art as a hiding place and inspiration.

"It’s obsessively melodic - in many ways referencing both the naive energy of Generation Terrorists and the orchestral sweep of Everything Must Go.

"After delay and difficulties getting started, the record has come together really quickly over the last few months through a surge of creativity and some old school hard work.”

Perhaps Nicky was just having a bad day when we caught him.

Check out the pretty epic album trailer below.

Josh Homme will appear at Bataclan victim charity gig

Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme has confirmed he will appear at a benefit gig in London next weekend.

A Peaceful Noise, now in its second year, is organised by Zoe Alexander in memory of her brother Nick, who was killed working at the Eagles of Death Metal show at the Bataclan in Paris, when it it was attacked by terrorists in November 2015.

Money raised by the Nick Alexander Memorial Trust goes towards funding musical equipment and instruments for charities and community groups across the UK.

Speaking to 6 Music, Josh said: "Noting can change the dark side of what occurred but what's important is what you do now.

"I've seen so many people who were affected and sharing their stories and coming to gigs is part of the healing process.

"There's nothing can be done now to erase the past but it's about what you do now and how that moves you into your own future."

So you've had some new Noel, Demi/Luis and Tame Impala tunes to whet your whistles today.

    Starting with Paloma Faith.

The London singer (above, left) switched on the Christmas lights in her home city's Regent street last night - alongside Emma Bunton, Grace Chatto, Michael Ball and Alfie Boe - now today sees her return with fourth album The Architect.

It's the follow-up to 2014's A Perfect Contradiction and well worthy of a little "internal celebration".

We like to think that fellow new album person Morrissey (below) will be dancing around his house today too, with some gladiolus but we doubt it.

The Guardian, external gives it three stars, describing it as "old greatness spoiled by ugliness and spite".

Adding: "Some brilliant lines gleam through the noise on Morrissey’s 11th album, but others – about war and Israel – are sneering and reactionary."

Just the two stars from The Independent, external.

In lead single Spent the Day, external in Bed however, Mozza urges us all to stop watching the news though...so he probably doesn't read reviews either.

The song took best song of the year, best record of the year, best urban album fusion/performance and best short form video.

"Viva Puerto Rico," said Luis on stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

"This award is for everyone and especially for those not necessarily recognized during these awards such as the engineers."

"It's been a beautiful year. Twelve or 11 months of hard work representing our language in the entire world and enjoying a song that, thanks to Latin audiences and many beyond, has become so influential and has united the entire world and broken language barriers," he told reporters.

Rubén Blades caused something of an upset, winning album of the year for Salsa Big Band.

“I feel bad when one person wins,” he said during an emotional acceptance speech:"You don’t want people to lose.”

Vicente Garcia won best new artist.

Meanwhile, Luis has another reason to celebrate as just hours after winning his awards, he shared the new video for Echame La Culpa, a collaboration with Demi Lovato.

Is it getting hot in here, do you think?

It's the second single taken from his forthcoming album Who Built The Moon?, which drops next week.

We caught up with the former Oasis guitarist and he told us that he strives for nothing these days...except for greatness, that he has nothing to prove and had some short but sharp words too for brother Liam.

He also revealed what he learned from supporting U2 on their world tour this year.

"I learned that I wouldn't fancy playing stadiums. Not that I'm gonna be playing stadiums with a French bird in a cape playing scissors anyway!

    "What did I learn?"

"I learned that me and my band really do know how to have a great time and I also learned that U2 also know how to have to have a great time.

    Morning all.

The weekend is so close we can almost taste it.

Let's get there together via new albums from Paloma Faith, Morrissey and Sia.

Moz once said: "Everyday is Like Sunday," but for Sia every day is Christmas - even in November.

Demi Lovato has teamed up with Despacito singer Luis Fonsi for a little Latino number (wise move) while his track Despacito is crowned king at the Latin Grammy awards.

There's a new single from Noel Gallagher too, plus those Tame Impala B sides we were promised yesterday.

We meet the man behind Big Shaq and rapper Ja Rule is "looking" for Banksy.

Later on we'll tell you 5 Things We Learnt This Week.

Okay let's go. Or "vamos"...as Demi and Luis might say.
