The family of late Swedish DJ Avicii have said his funeral will be private.

In a statement, apparently given to Billboard, external, the family of the star, born Tim Bergling in Sweden said: "There have been many inquiries regarding the funeral arrangements for Tim Bergling, known by music fans as Avicii.

"The Bergling family has now confirmed that the funeral will be private, in the presence of the people who were closest to Tim."

The 28-year-old was found in his hotel room in Oman on 20 April with authorities ruling out foul play.

Sparks singer Russell Mael has described comments Morrissey made following the Manchester terror attack as "ill-conceived and wrong".

The Smiths frontman grew up as a massive fan of the avent garde Los Angeles band.

Following the bombing of the Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena a year ago today, Moz implied in a statement that politicians were scared to call the attacker an Islamist extremist.

“In modern Britain everyone seems petrified to officially say what we all say in private," he wrote, external.

Speaking to the Press Association. singer Russell Mael said: "I'm totally in agreement with anybody being disillusioned because I am as well.

"It seemed so inconsistent, all these perspectives that he has on those various issues, just stupid, dumb kind of things."

He added that Morrissey comments were "just so ill-conceived and wrong".

Sparks perform in Glasgow this evening, in support of latest album Hippopotamus.

This will be music to the ears of the people of Brighton, Birmingham, Hull, Liverpool and Edinburgh.

The Detroit rocker will head over to England and Scotland in October in support of his avant garde new album Boarding House Reach.

Will Smith is expected to be getting jiggy at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium on 14 June by performing the tournament's official track at the opening ceremony ahead of the first match between hosts Russia and Saudi Arabia.

The rapper/actor will team up with Nicky Jam, Diplo and Kosovan artist Era Istrefi to help soundtrack this summer's flagship Fifa football event.

He posted the above pic of him and Nicky, tagging the other guys alongside the caption; "One Life to Live. Live it Up. #2018FIFAWorldCup."

The track is reportedly out on Friday and the dream team are believed to have already recorded the video for the track in the Colombia.

Goldfrapp have teamed up with the Depeche Mode frontman on a new recording of their track Ocean.

The song is taken form their Silver Eye album that was released last year but makes it a duet between Alison and Dave.

Goldfrapp are supporting The Cure at their 40th anniversary British Summer Time gig in London in July.

This morning, Ariana Grande (scroll down) tweeted her love and support to those affected by the tragedy outside her gig at the Manchester Arena exactly one year ago today.

In the wake of the life-changing event, the singer's response was to hastily arrange a benefit gig at Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester, less than two weeks later.

Stars - including surprise special guest Liam Gallagher - and fans came out in force.

Meanwhile the family of the youngest victim of the atrocity, eight-year-old Saffie Roussos, say they are hoping to hold a concert in her memory later this year.

Ed Sheeran has taken an aggressive stance against touts by cancelling more than 10,000 tickets for his upcoming stadium tour.

After the tour went on sale, the star's team identified purchases by known touts and revoked their tickets.

Any tickets listed for re-sale on sites like Viagogo were also cancelled.

Fans who'd bought from those sites - often at vastly inflated prices - were given assistance in claiming refunds and getting genuine tickets.

So far, more than £240,000 has been returned to fans who inadvertently bought invalid tickets.

Stuart Galbraith of concert promoters Kilimanjaro Live, said:

A further 500 tickets are going to be cancelled this week, ahead of the first date of the tour at Manchester's Etihad Stadium, he added.

Sheeran's team decided to pursue touts after hundreds of tickets for a Teenage Cancer Trust gig were snapped up and sold for profit last March.

He imposed strict conditions on his 18-date stadium tour, including:

• Names printed on tickets, with ID required at the door
• A maximum of four tickets per customer
• Tickets listed for resale to be cancelled
• Any tickets bought by a "business or trader" to be cancelled

"That she shows me love and loves what I do is a real confidence booster."

South London rapper Ms Banks is still at the beginning of her career but she can already count on the support of one of the biggest players in the game, Nicki Minaj.

It all started when Nicki quoted some of Tyra Banks' (yes she shares the same name as the US supermodel, external) bars from the track Yu Zimme on Twitter late last year.

The 24-year-old, who made her debut at new music festival The Great Escape last week, was understandably pretty happy with the contact, particularly when Nicki said she wanted to hang out when she came to the UK.

"She's still really nice and shows me love, it's amazing, she's the best female rapper of all time as far as I'm concerned," Ms Banks tells us adding, "hopefully you'll see something from us soon."

Ms Banks is one of a group of young female MCs beginning to make a name for themselves in what is still a genre of music largely dominated by men.

"We've got so many girls killin' it on the come up like Alicai Harley, Stefflon Don, Lady Leshurr there are so many of us.

"The girls aren't scared and it's good that women are setting an example because it's going to encourage more women to come into the game and show what they're made of."

She started out rapping at the age of 11 after she was encouraged by her family to try music: "I started off doing poetry first and my uncle was like, 'Try rapping it to this drum and bass beat and see how you do' and yeah, it sounded really good and I was like; 'Oh my God, I can actually rap".

Ms Banks released her newest mixtape/album; The Coldest Winter earlier this year, filled with wall to wall club bangers like her single Bangs, Day Ones and Clap.

She also supported another of the biggest names in the biz right now, Cardi B on her UK tour, last year.

On 13 July, she joins a line-up at the Lovebox, external Festival which includes Skepta, Diplo and SZA.

"My worst ever gig was in Sheffield," she confides. "I don't want to say too much but there was about four people in the room.

"I don't know why. I still gave it my all like there was 400. I use things like that to better my performance skills."

But what makes a great Ms Banks gig?

"Loads of good vibes, loads of hair flicking and twerking, all of that," she chuckles.

While Ms Banks still accepts advice from her mentor Nicki Minaj ("She's always told me just to go hard"), she shies away a little from being held up as a role model herself.

"I hope they don't take me too seriously as a role model but I know some will look up to me.

A mural of Frightened Rabbit singer Scott Hutchison was unveiled in Glasgow at the weekend.

The portrait of the late singer will be on show at BAaD (Barras Art and Design) until Sunday.

Artist Michael Corr said he wanted to make a tribute to the Frightened Rabbit singer who died on 10 May.

He said: "I knew that I wanted to create something colourful and expressive for Scott.

"I was grateful to have a big space to create the piece. I have a small painting studio so I was glad to have the opportunity to work on Scott's portrait at this scale."

Scott's body was found in the River Forth near Edinburgh two days after he went missing.

The band called the mural, external "a beautiful tribute" on Twitter.

The California rapper/producer - who can drum and sing too - is back with a new track; Bubblin.

Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac is a fan - it's fair to say - and she made it her Hottest Record last night.

Annie noted that A .Paak has gone in a slightly different direction with this one.

"It's less soulful. More just jump up rap music."

Four years ago all four members of the Arctic Monkeys invested in a contoversial tax avoidance scheme, which the likes of George Michael, Michael Caine, Katie Melua and Ant & Dec also found themselves embroiled in.

They reportedly paid between £38,000 and £84,000 each in fees to Liberty to protect £557,000 to £1.1m.

Now in a new interview with The Times, frontman Alex said the band did not realise what they were getting themselves involved in and have always paid their taxes.

On a more humorous note, some grafitti on a wall in the band's hometown Sheffield (above right) appears to take the mick out of Alex's by-now established LA rockstar lifestyle.

The classical musician's debut solo album has entered the midweek top 20 following his performance at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wedding on Saturday.

It will be a night to remember for most of them but none more so than support act and rock 'n' roll star in his own right Liam Gallagher.

He's set to "shuffle the pack" before shuffling off stage to make room for Dartford's finest.

Now this is a question that has come up before in the MNL office.

Is it ever acceptable for a white rap fan to rap along verbatim to their favourite black hip hop artist?

It's a question that comedian Chris Rock has tackled with great hilarity (he says it's fine as long as it's in the song) but one Kendrick Lamar fan discovered that sometimes the answer is a big fat no at his Hangout Festival gig in Alabama on Sunday night.

A white woman called Delaney was called up on stage - as Ken often does - to join him for a rap battle on his track M.A.A.D City.

But she was cut short by the star after being heard to repeatedly rap along to the offending word contained within the backing track.

Kendrick pulled the track, leaving Delaney floundering.

"Aren't I cool enough for you?," she asked on the mic, to a chorus of aggressive boos.

"What's up, bro?"

Lamar then agreed to give her another try on one condition; "You got to bleep one single word, though."

Delaney responded;

After starting the music up again, the flustered fan then used the N-word again before Kendrick brought things to a close.

We can't bring it to you here because of the language but you can find it on the worldwide web now.

It's caused quite a debate online.

Camila Cabello, external has pulled out of performing at Taylor Swift's Reputation tour in Seattle tonight due to dehydration.

She told followers on social media she was checked into hospital after performing at the Billboard Awards - and has been told she also has "a low grade fever".

"I guess sometimes I just push myself too hard," she added in her tweet below.

Camila is due to perform at the BBC's Biggest Weekend in Swansea on Sunday.
