Its became synonymous with overblown, hubristic rock excess - but is it time to reevaluate Oasis's third album, the sprawling Be Here Now, released 20 years ago this week?

6 Music have been having a look at the album's success and failures two decades and one acrimonious split later.

It's still one of the fastest selling British albums of all time, shifting more than 424,000 in its first day (none of them streamed). But it split critics.

Even a deluxe re-release in 2016 couldn't have been more divisive, external.

We can't remember Paddy McGuinness and Leigh Francis starring in the film for one but here you go - the picture doesn't lie.

Also, there nearly wasn't a soundtrack because musicians hadn't heard of Patrick Swayze and Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes who sang the song's breakout hit (below) almost passed on it.

Aldous 'Huxley' silenced the Green Man, external festival crowd with a captivating show on the beautiful and sunny Walled Garden stage this weekend.

Or at least that's how Miss A Harding was introduced.

In fairness to the compere, it probably wasn't the first time her uniquely similar name has been confused with the late, great dystopian writer and won't be last.

"Whatever," she shrugged, piercing the awkward tension with relieved laughter.

Before the show, the laconic Kiwi, who hails from Lyttelton, near Christchurch revealed she feels quite at home here in the hills of the Brecon Beacons.

"Yeah I guess. Wales is a lot like New Zealand," she said.

"My family used to put on a small folk festival. And I've got a little hutch with beer in it. It's cosy."

Aldous came to wider attention with a powerful and theatrical performance of her alternative-ending love story track Horizon on Jools Holland (check it above).

As well as that kind of exposure, the singer - don't call her a folk singer - told us a few other things that help make her rather intense shows roll on more smoothly.

"It was definitely a really lovely thing for me, doing Jools.

"Of course, the songs mean something to me but I just try to put on a show.

"I'm actually quite a shy person and it's becoming clearer to me. Sometimes I would like to disappear, maybe only for an hour. I didn't used to but now I allow myself to just be tired [on stage] and close my eyes. My voice can't always take it. I ease up a while."

She added: "But of course I enjoy it. I wouldn't do it if I didn't.

At the Walled Garden stage, Aldous stared manically out into the crowd in between delivering tracks from her second album Party, like Living The Classics and What If Birds Aren't Singing, They're Screaming, as well as a few new numbers too.

"This is a new song" she offered at one point, "We've never done it like this before. It'll be what it'll be."

When she speaks, it's like the scene from Forrest Gump, external when he finally stops running after years and softly tells his bewitched followers that he's tired and wants to go home.

You won't find a crowd of entranced people having more fun in total awe-induced silence anywhere in this field, as she moves awkwardly yet somehow effortlessly from singing softly like one of the birds in her song to booming out operatic choruses.

Alongside Michael Kiwanuka and Thee Oh Sees, Aldous seemed to deliver one of the most appreciated non-headline performances of the festival.

And what about after the show?

"Wine is poured", says Aldous. "And a bit of coffee."

After that performance those vocal chords should be given whatever they desire.
