1)Three weeks is long enough to get a tatt tribute to your girlfriend.

If she's Ariana Grande, that is.

Things are moving fast for the singer and new boyfriend, Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson.

The couple, who have been dating for three weeks, took things to the next level at the weekend when Pete got not one, but two tattoos in tribute to his new lady, including *gulp* her initials.

    2) We have a new youngest Newbie Tuesday

At the grand old age of 16, Ibizan-by-way of Antigua Au/Ra is a singer-songwriter whose collaboration with UK producers Camelphat has been one of the tunes of the (pre) summer.

So much so that radio 1 made it a tune of the week.

"Funnily, that style of music isn't really popular in Antigua," she admits. "Everyone listens to reggae and dancehall so I don't think that many people there other than my friends know that it's me.

"But to hear it playing on Radio 1 is insane."

Read more about Au/ra and her battle with stage fright.

    3) Dolly Parton's biggest hits are coming to Netflix

Dolly is working on a new series for the streaming service, based on her music.

Dolly will executive produce and will apparently co-star as well.

"As a songwriter, I have always enjoyed telling stories through my music. We hope our show will inspire and entertain families and folks of all generations," she said.

    Us "folks" are well excited.

The "origin story", is expected to reveal how Wonka first amassed his fortune and met those all important Oompa Loompas.

Spandau Ballet introduced their new frontman - West End musical star Ross William Wild - at a club show at London’s Subterania.

Martin Kemp had met the 30-year old Aberdonian singer when he starred alongside the bassist in The Million Dollar Quartet in 2016.

“He gave me goosebumps every night he sang," said Martin.

The band's set list included hits like Through the Barricades, Gold and True - all released before Ross was born.

In 2011, there was one songs on everybody's lisp (for all the wrong reasons).

Rebecca Black's self-released Friday became a worldwide viral hit.

Now, aged 20, she has told BBC Radio 5 live that it's taken her years to get over the trolling.

It was dubbed "the world's worst song" by critics, and quickly became one of the site's most disliked videos.

"I saw everything. When I started reading those negative comments I just couldn't stop - I just kept going and going and going," she said.

"People commenting don't think a real person has to read this and move on with their day."

Two exciting new albums out today, from Welsh psyche-rockers Boy Azooga and south London crooner Matt Maltese.

First up, (above) here is the "Broadcast, Serge Gainsbourg, Caribou, George Harrison"-inspired opening track to BA's brilliantly titled 1,2, Kung Fu!

According to singer Davy Newngton: "Breakfast Epiphany is the first track off the record, I came up with the chorus lyric in the shower and just kept repeating it again and again so that I didn’t forget the lyrics before I could write it in my phone notes."

    How modern.

"Having said the lyrics over and over to myself so as not to forget them" he continued.

"I thought I would do that in the actual song too, like a chant or something. It’s quite a sad song so I thought I’d give it a daft pun name."

The video was shot during a drinking session in Cardiff.

And here are the pics to prove it.

  9. Arctic Monkeys: What we learned from their first UK gig backpublished at 12:47 BST 8 June 2018

    Arctic MonkeysImage source, Steve Gillett

Straight off the back of their Live at the BBC Maida Vale special last night (which you can watch on BBC Two tonight from 23:05) the Arctic Monkeys did a hot lap over to London's iconic Royal Albert Hall for a special gig in aid of the War Child charity.

It was the band's first UK gig since the release of their divisive new album, Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino and Music News LIVE was there to witness the start of the new Monkeys era.

There was something old (From the Ritz to the Rubble), something new (Star Treatment), something borrowed (band members) but sadly nothing blue.

    Here's what we learned.

Some exciting news for all you hep cats out there.

A previously unheard album by the late, great John Coltrane is on the way.

In 1963, he and his quartet recorded a session at the Van Gelder Studios in New Jersey.

John took the tapes home at the end of the day and they lay unused in his family home. He died four years later of liver cancer.

The album's worth of material, which features unheard originals is now being released 55 years on.

The 20-year-old from Walsall has been one of the most hotly-tipped singers in the UK for a while now - finishing fourth in the BBC Sound of 2017 poll - so the arrival of her debut album today will be big news to many.

While the band are busy showcasing their new singer, 30-year-old Scotsman Ross William Wild, Tony is launching his new solo album.

The singer was speaking to BBC Breakfast earlier about his latest LP, Talking to the Moon, when he was asked about his split from the band last year.

At the time, he released a statement which said: "Due to circumstances beyond my control, it is with deep regret that I am required to state that I am no longer a member of the band."

"It's something that happened, something specific, I may say one day what it was, or I may never say," he added this morning.

"I genuinely wish them all the best, I'm getting on with my life."

UK music has, for the third year running, accounted for one in every eight albums sold or streamed around the world in 2017.

Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and The Beatles were among the most popular, according to a new report by the BPI.

British artists made up nearly half of all album sales within in the UK and a quarter of all sales in Australia.

One in every six albums sold internationally is by an American artist.

Geoff Taylor, chief executive of the BPI said: "As Britain begins to chart its new course in international trade, it's not idle hyperbole to claim that music has truly become Britain's international calling card."

Ed's album Divide was the world's biggest-selling album, according to recent figures by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).

Among the other big hitters on the global stage were Harry Styles, Liam Gallagher and Depeche Mode.

A little less encouraging is that no women made the top 10 best-selling UK albums worldwide.
