The Mercury Prize-winning singer has posted the below pic of a pair of rather unorthodox wedding ring finger piercings.

They look pretty painful... but then again, love hurts.

This is all unconfirmed and it could be nothing but lots of people online seem to be congratulating the singer on 'the news.'

The now defunct Manchester band's office are today celebrating 23 years of Morning Glory (which must give you a rush of blood to the head at the very least) by releasing a brand new lyric video for fans' favourite She's Electric - taken from the huge 1995 album.

It remains the fifth biggest-selling UK album of all time and you can check out the new video above.

One man who almost certaintly had access to a copy of said album is fellow Northern rocker Miles Kane.

He's dropped the latest new video from his album Coup De Grace and you can check that above too.

Killing the Joke finds a lovelorn Miles propping up the bar and driving around (hopefully not immediately afterwards) musing about where it all went wrong.

The highlight of the song is surely the Wirral singer/guitarist quoting the late great Bruce Forsyth.

Stars from around the music world will lead a protest against the Supreme Court nominee in Washington DC on Thursday.

Kavanaugh is accused of sexual assault by three women, claims now being investigated by the FBI.

R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe, Alicia Keys, Erykah Badu will lead a protest concert dubbed “Bravery Is Contagious” at the Supreme Court in the capital.

“We anticipate a vote on the Senate floor to confirm Brett Kavanaugh as early as Friday," organisers Party Majority PAC wrote on the event website., external

"It is critical we make our voices heard on the ground in Washington.

“If there was ever a moment when the voice of the people can come together in concert to change the fate of our nation, this is it.”

The singer-songwriter has been announced as the guest curator for the event next August.

As well as choosing his own acts on the line-up Nick will also take to the main stage for his own appearance.

He first played there in 2012 as emerging talent and says he still harbours a love for the festival.

Singer-songwriter Chelcee Grimes, 26, is arguably the most well-connected debut artist featured by Music News LIVE.

She has a little black book which would make Nile Rodgers blush, having written songs for the likes of Dua Lipa, The Saturdays, Olly Murs, X Factor winner Louisa Johnson, Steps' Claire Richards and Kylie Minogue.

Which makes it slightly less awkward that during Chelcee's slot busking at Kings Cross station in London for BBC Music Day, her performance was almost continually interrupted by station announcements recorded by the Australian pop singer.

"It was a bit strange hearing Kylie say, 'Do the locomotion' at some points in the song but I'm a professional and me and Kylie go way back."

It's not an idle boast, her song Million Miles, external was featured on Kylie's 2014 album Kiss Me Once.

"I'd done the ground work, I was signed first, got dropped and then went away and started trying to write for people."

First signed at the age of 18, she was dropped without even releasing a single. "I was making a horrible album," she says.

"When it happened, it's the worst feeling in the world, it was my first heartbreak. You think, 'I'm signed, I've made it' and then six months later, without putting out a song, I was dropped.

"But Katy Perry got dropped three times, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars got dropped... it became a thread, almost like a rite of passage."

It was during a writing session in Copenhagen with Danish pop producer Cutfather that Chelcee was asked to write a song for Kylie.

"I wrote it in ten minutes and they sent it to her that night and she was recording it the next morning. I think it was a bit of beginners luck really."

If that sounds overly self-effacing, here's the real kicker - Chelcee isn't even a songwriter by nature.

"I'm a footballer, that's what I did first and what I've come back to now, I played for Liverpool ladies from the age of 10 to 17 (she now plays for Fulham Ladies), I was going to be a footballer and then I took music at GCSE and I fell in love with it."

Football's loss is music's gain... sort of.

"People ask me what do I love and the honest answer is both the same, that's why I do both right now with very little me time.

"I guess there will be a moment when I do have to choose but until then I'm enjoying both."

Chelcee's songwriting credits extend beyond the UK, In South Korea, she co-wrote K-Pop star Taeyeon‘s 11:11, which topped the chart with 10 million streams in one week.

It's the one song which got away.

"I'd been suffering real writer's block," she explains, "but I sat with my guitar and wrote it and it went on to be massive.

"Maybe I'll record a cover of my own song," she laughs.

Earlier this summer, Chelcee released her debut single Just Like That and followed it up with I Need A Night Out (above).

"Its very self explanatory really," she says. "I was going through a bad time last year, my first [romantic] heartbreak.

"Even though it sounds like a happy pop record, the lyrics were very sad. I need a night out wasn't about going out and letting your hair down, it was about escaping from reality and how I was feeling.

"That's the great thing about music, I remember how sad I was when I wrote it and now when I sing it, people smile."

Chelcee reveals she has another song she has written with Ed Sheeran which she hopes will make her album, which could come out next year, and she has not one but three songs on Dua Lipa's next record.

"I knew Dua when she first got got signed," she says. "She had like 300 followers and no-one knew her.

"Now she has got like 19 million... it's so inspiring that your life can change with one or two songs."

The last thing we want to do in the first week of October is bring you Christmas music news but the smooth singer has announced his forthcoming new album, A Legendary Christmas!

Despite John's Santa hat, "Sunny Los Angeles in September" in the video above couldn't look less Christmas-y if it tried.

But business is business and he has to plug the US tour to go with the album.

"I've been wanting to do this for a long time," said John. The record will contain eight classic Crimbo tunes and six originals.

To be fair he's only giving himself five days off around the holidays which barely leaves time to eat all the leftover turkey.

The New Jersey singer-songwriter has treated us to Comeback Kid ahead of the release of new album, Remind Me Tomorrow.

The follow-up to 2014's Are We There was apparently written while she was pregnant, studying psychology and appearing in David Lynch’s recent adaptation of Twin Peaks.

Oh, and performing at the 2018 New York Prom (below).

Following an investigation by the Toronto Star newspaper a couple of weeks back, which accused the ticketing site of colluding with touts, Ticketmaster is now being sued by music fans.

The action was filed in California on Friday and cites Ticketmaster and its parent company Live Nation Entertainment for “unlawful and unfair business practices” that have “unjustly enriched” the ticket-seller at the expense of live events fans.

The Toronto Star report looked into a programme called TradeDesk which allegedly assists brokers in relisting and reselling mass amounts of tickets for a higher price on a secondary Ticketmaster site.

In a statement at the time, Ticketmaster told the BBC it was "categorically untrue that Ticketmaster has any programme in place to enable resellers to acquire large volumes of tickets at the expense of consumers."

The U2 frontman has revealed that god spoke to him during a recent health scare.

The 58-year-old Irishman told The Sunday Times that he had a “brush with mortality” in late 2016, which he refused to name specifically but claimed he “nearly ceased to be”.

Bono said: "I don’t want to speak about it. But I did have a major moment in my recent life where I nearly ceased to be. I’m totally through it, stronger than ever."

He added: “There were some serious whispers in the ear that maybe I should have taken notice of. The Edge says I look at my body as an inconvenience, and I do. I really love being alive and I’m quite good at being alive, meaning I like to get the best out of any day. It was the first time I put my shoulder to the door and it didn’t open.

Bono's health issues have been widely reported as the inspiration behind the band's last album, Songs of Experience and the record's liner notes spoke of "a shock to the system" that left him "clinging on to my own life".

The singer also revealed that he doesn't know if U2 will tour again.

The artist formerly known as Kanye West has been explaining why his ninth album, Yandhi, didn't arrive on Saturday as promised.

It turns out, he didn't finish it on time (that didn't stop him with The Life of Pablo) and wants to go to Africa (he doesn't give specifics) to complete it.

"I just need to go and grab the soil... and have the mic in the open, so you can hear nature while we're recording," he told TMZ, external.

"I felt this energy when I was in Chicago. I felt the roots. We have to go to what is known as Africa."

His wife Kim seems to have revealed the exact new release date for the album - 23 November - claiming "it is worth the wait".

Ye also clarified his tweet calling for the abolition of the 13th Amendment of the US Constitution, which ended slavery and prompted outcry from fellow musicians including Lana Del Rey and Questlove.

"Abolish was the wrong language," he said.

"I mis-spoke by saying abolish. Amend is the right language… What's beautiful about our Constitution is we can amend it."

He went on to explain that he was referring to what's called the 13th Amendment's "exception clause" - which allows forced labour to continue inside America's prisons.

On another topic entirely West also said he hoped to set up a meeting between President Trump and Colin Kapernick, who was the first NFL player to protest against racial injustice and police brutality by kneeling during the US national anthem.

In a new twist in the story gripping the US, the Supreme Court nominee is accused of starting a fight with man he believed to be UB40 singer Ali Campbell (pictured above in 1984) after a gig in 1985.

The British reggae band have bizarrely found themselves embroiled in the case as the court tries to establish Kavanaugh's general drinking habits during his student days at Yale university.

He has been accused by three women of sexual misconduct and is now subject to an FBI investigation.

The New York Times reports, external the altercation took place at a bar in New Haven, Connecticut during Kavanaugh's junior year at college.

According to the police report, Kavanaugh threw ice at the other man for “for some unknown reason” and the NY Times reports he and his friends, which included future NBA player Chris Dudley, were trying to determine whether the man was frontman Ali.

The singer has given One Directioners a glimmer of hope at the BMI awards in London by suggesting the band, who went on hiatus three years ago, could reform.

"I saw Louis [Tomlinson] recently for something that I cannot say," he told Newsbeat.

"I've been in touch with Niall and Harry a little bit. I think it would be nice if we could get back together, but we'll see. In time.

"All in good time."

The singer had previously told Italian Vogue that her Lisbon-inspired new album would be out by the end of the year.

But it seems she has amended her calendar to say that 2019 will be the time for the world to to hear what she has been working on.

In an interview with beauty mag WWD, external, where she was talking about her new skincare products, Madonna said: "I’m finishing my record, which I’m going to release next year.

"In between rose mist spray and serums, I’m actually making music."

The new album will be her first since 2015’s Rebel Heart.

Fans of French-Armenian singer and songwriter Charles Aznavour (pictured above, right) have been paying glowing tributes following his death aged 94.

The star, best known for his 1974 hit She, died at one of his homes in the south east of France.

Lenny Kravitz (above) recalled being introduced to the late star by Bob Dylan, describing him as "a grand artiste, actor, composer and vocalist of songs that will never die."

Soft Cell singer Marc Almond called him "one of my greatest inspirations."

Orri Páll Dýrason has left the Icelandic avant-rock band after Los Angeles artist Meagan Boyd made the allegation in a now-deleted Instagram post.

She claimed the musician raped her twice when they shared a bed in 2013.

The band said in a Facebook post, below, they had accepted his resignation to let him handle the "extremely serious" claims "privately".

The drummer has defended himself on Facebook.

Thanking friends and family for their trust, "despite the serious public allegations against me", Mr Dýrason asked people to "stay calm", external and stressed these "are not court proceedings, just Meagan's words against mine, on the internet".

Cardi B has handed herself in to police who are investigating an alleged fight in a strip club.

The New York City Police Department told Radio 1 Newsbeat charges are "pending" for the singer and rapper.

An attack on two sisters working as bartenders is alleged to have happened at Angels Strip Club in the Queens area of New York and nine others are reported, external to have spoken to officers as well.

It's not yet known exactly how Cardi B was involved in the incident on 29 August.

For starters, we knew she was pretty handy with a racket but now US tennis star Serena Williams has been showing off her vocal skills too, for Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Serena's recorded a fitting version of The Divinyls classic, I Touch Myself.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion wrote on Instagram: "The music video is part of the I Touch Myself Project which was created in honour of celebrated diva, Chrissy Amphlett, who passed away from breast cancer, and who gave us her hit song to remind women to put their health first."
