No sinister goings on we hope?

Speaking of sinister and that most unluckiest of numbers, horror film director John Carpenter will next week release an album of newly-recorded versions of 13 of his movie themes.

With that in mind, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have released a version of the iconic theme to the 1978 movie Halloween.

    Check it below.

    Spooky eh?

Nine Inch Nails singer Reznor said the film had been a great inspiration to him.

“[My friends and I] left the theater forever changed" he said.

“We were damaged and scarred, with the **** genuinely scared out of us and that theme stuck firmly in our heads. John Carpenter, it’s your fault that I turned out the way I did.”

    That explains a lot.

By the way in case - like us - you wondered why today is supposed to be the most unluckiest all then allow us to educate you - apparently it's something to do with the last supper.

  16. Robert Plant: I love what I do and I tell it like it feelspublished at 11:00 BST 13 October 2017

    Media caption,

Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant tells Chris about recording his solo album Carry Fire.

The former Led Zep frontman is back with his 11th studio album Carry Fire today.

He spoke to Radio 2 breakfast show host Chris Evans this morning (above) about his ever-evolving songwriting and how much he loves playing with "the greatest musicians on the planet".

Praise indeed for a man who was in a band with Jimmy Page for 12 years.

Robert is referring to the brilliantly-named Sensational Space Shifters, who appeared with him on Later...with Jools Holland this week (below).

"They push me and are kind to me - and they let me have a nap!" said the 69-year-old.

As well as being a bit of a rock 'n' roll ledge who enjoys a nap, Robert has also clearly got a cracking sense of humour.

Here he is below agreeing to dress up an actual plant, at the request of 'stag' James (below) in a pub in Wollaston, Northamptonshire.

You can picture the scenes now.

"If I put this on my head for a bit will you lot leave me alone to my pint?.."

The diminutive Hawaiian is out front at this year's ceremony with eight nominations, including Artist of the Year - where he is up against The Chainsmokers, rappers Drake and Kendrick Lamar and Ed Sheeran.

Ed and electro-pop bros Chainsmokers each have five nominations.

There are some pretty big snubs when it comes to women who have released acclaimed music this year, outside of the female categories - nothing for Lorde, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, SZA, Kesha, Lana Del Rey or Kesha.

Halsey is one of the few female artists to land nominations for her collaboration with Chainsmokers on Closer and tweeted she was "really disappointed" at the male-dominated nominees.

The nominations are compiled by Billboard magazine using music sales, touring, streaming and radio airplay and social activity.

The winner will be announced on 19 November.

Filmed a week before singer Chester Bennington's suicide, Linkin Park's Carpool Karaoke episode has been shared on the band's Facebook page (above).

Normally only available to subscribers to Apple Music, the 23-minute long episode, which sees the band travel with comedian Ken Jeong, has been dedicated "to the memory of Chester".

With the late singer behind the wheel, the episode sees them open with a singalong to OutKast's Hey Ya and their breakout hit Numb.

It also sees a smiling Chester join in with renditions of songs by Aerosmith, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

He jokes the comic, who has starred in films like Knocked Up and The Hangover, should "join the band" and rename himself 'Ken Park' saying: "Finally we have some leadership!"

We should warn there is some bleeped out swearing peppered through the video (above).
