On Sunday, 50 years after it was made, the animated Beatles movie, Yellow Submaine, is back in cinemas.

The film features loads of their best known songs like All You Need is Love, Eleanor Rigby and Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and some truly groundbreaking animation.

    Check out the trailer above.

Famously, the animated band members were voiced by actors, with the real Fab Four only appearing at the end of the film in a pre-credits scene.

Animator Malcolm Draper told 6 Music about meting one half of the band while working on the film, and how one in particular was unimpressed with what he saw.

    1) Looks like Matty Healy's dad is on his new album

The 1975 singer's old man Tim Healy has tweeted that a song he wrote 20 years ago will be on the band's next album.

The band have already shared Give Yourself a Try, from their upcoming third album. Matty said they actually have two albums in the works, the second of which could be released in May 2019.

We don't know exactly where the father/son duet will go yet or what it will sound like.

But we really hope it's a synth-driven cover of Thats Living Alright, from Auf Weidersehen, Pet, which Tim starred in... as those of you old enough to remember will know.

  16. Florence pays tribute to Patti Smith on her new albumpublished at 09:59 BST 6 July 2018

    BBC Radio 2

    Media caption,

Florence of Florence and the Machine on her admiration for songwriter, Patti Smith.

The song Patricia on Florence's latest album, High As Hope is - at least partly - inspired by the American singer-songwriter.

"There is a bit in the middle of the song that definitely isn't about her," she laughed.

"I've always loved her and it was actually through her writing that I feel I really got to know her.

    Quote Message

She writes about life in such a beautiful way that it seems to endow even the smallest things with a sense of spirituality or reverence. Whether it's going to the coffee shop or what you eat for breakfast in the morning...

"She kind of elevates everything and it was like a little north star to follow as like how to have a creative life as a whole."

Blimey, hope you're reading this Patti.

    Listen above.

She also performed Hunger from the new album. Too early for a quick desk-boogie? We don't think so.

You really couldn't make it up, could you?

First up today, US secretary of state Mike Pompeo is reportedly set to give North Korean leader Kim Jong-un a copy of Sir Elt's explosive hit during their ongoing nuclear talks in Pyongyang.

Pompeo's boss, Trump, had goaded his Korean counterpart last year by labelling him as the ‘little rocket man’, before the two nations recently began to discuss a programme of denuclearisation.

Now apparently Elton holds the key to the deal as The Guardian reports, external that Pompeo will present Kim with the CD along with a letter from the Donald.

So this one goes out to you Kim/Donald - and to world peace.

The record-breaking rapper is coming out swinging after her ex-manager Klenord “Shaft” Raphael sued her back in April for a cool $10m (£7.2m) claiming she had frozen him out of her career.

"While he is proud of their successful collaborations as she evolved from Instagram influencer to music megastar, Shaft is disappointed by her actions to freeze him out of her career, which are detailed in the complaint."

Now, according to a report in Variety, Cardi has filed a counter-suit contending the original suit brought by Shaft “arises out of the deceitful and disloyal conduct of a self-serving and controlling personal manager.”

Cardi, who real name is Belcalis Almanzar, adds “trust was abused” during their working relationship.

Shaft took Cardi on as a client in 2014 while she was still employed as stripper.

As her fame grew “so too did Shaft’s greed,” said her legal papers.
