    Wilderness Friday festival fun

"Why not dress like an egg?"

A very good question from one of the many festival heads who are getting into the spirit at Wilderness as we speak.

For them it's about music, food, debates and yoga apparently.

We'll hear more about that in Monday's MNL and maybe hear from one or two of the acts as well.

For us today it's been all about Lorde, Muse, Camilla, Liam G, T Rex, Kesha, Ziggy Marley and Morrissey...to name but a few.

Scroll down to find out why and for 5 Things We've Learned This Week too.

Like these two above, have a 'cracking' weekend and see you on the 'flip side' (not even sorry about that last one).

The sticksman said he never thought the album's legacy would last half a century.

    1) There is no new Strokes album coming soon

Whatever Albert Hammond Jr's dad may have told you.

    Got it?

The guitarist was forced to deny rumours last weekend that the band were set to record a new record with Rick Rubin.

His dad - plain old Albert Hammond - is the source of the rumour after he told the The West Australian, external that it was happening.

He said: “I speak to my son every day and he says that they’re so happy."

Junior has since stepped in on social media to nip the rumours in the bud, saying his dad got " a prematurely excited" and that "a theoretical album plan would be years away, if at all".

This all raises the question...Is This It for The Strokes?

We also learned that there's still no love lost between the New York band and Ryan Adams, after the singer dissed both Albert Hammonds in one fell Liam Gallagher-esque Twitter swoop.

    He said:

    2) Bucks Fizz are back (minus the Bucks)

One time Eurovision-winners Bucks Fizz are back with their first new album in 30 years.

They've dropped the Bucks, due to an ongoing dispute with former member Bobby Gee but The Fizz's new track Dancing In The Rain (below) still has plenty of pop sparkle.

Jay Aston from the band said: "Despite the challenges over the years, we are more united than ever.

"The fans have been with us all the way."

    3) Sheryl Crow is still alive

There appears to have been some confusion but the 55-year-old US singer has cleared things up emphatically... with a song.

Sheryl was apparently so amused by a tweeter who has suggested that she would be "rolling in her grave" over rapper Kid Rock's decision to run for Senate in his home state of Michigan, that she decided to respond with a musical ditty.

Dude I'm Still Alive contains the lyrics:

"If Kid Rock runs for Senate / I wouldn't be surprised / But not over my dead body / Cause dude I'm still alive."

    4) Lady Gaga's Joanne World Tour is up and running

Lady G's Joanne world tour commenced in Canada on Thursday night and saw the star perform a career-spanning 22-song set at the Rogers Arena, in Vancouver.

    5) Bestival could be the end of the Quest for a Tribe Called...

The US hip hop act hinted at their imminent breakup by announcing that they've played their last ever concerts in LA and New York.

Referring to his late band-mate, rapper Q-Tip was reported as saying on stage: "This is our final performance here in LA as Tribe, obviously because Phife Dawg, our anchor, has been called to another mission.”

Now all that remains on their tour schedule is four gigs, culminating at a certain Dorset festival next month.

Get there early for that one maybe.

And while we are talking rap endings, Andre 3000 of Outkast suggested the end could be nigh for him too... in a hip hop sense.

He said: "At this stage I’m really more focused on what I am going to be doing 10 years from now. And I hope to God it won’t be rapping."

Just don't tell the news to this police officer from Camp Bestival last weekend, whatever you do.

More new music now courtesy of London-based multi-international psych garage rockers The Pacers, external.

There's all sorts of confusion going on here in the trippy new video for their track Mirror Man. It's the second single from their as-yet untitled debut album which is expected to arrive in time for Christmas (handy that).

    Sony are yet to comment.

The unauthorised Morrissey biopic England Is Mine is out in UK cinemas today - you can read what its director and star had to say about it.

Morrissey hasn't had anything to do with the film (apart from, you know, living his life) so Moz-watchers are waiting to see what he thinks of it.

One clue might be the fact he's just put England Is Mine T-shirts on his official online store, external. The title comes from the Smiths song Still Ill - "England is mine, it owes me a living."

Given his fierce protection of animal rights, there is an alternative version of the T-shirt with pictures of farmyard animals and the words "England is theirs and we owe them a living".

In another tweet, the 20-year-old singer said she was "gutted" and pointed out what a "melodrama*" the whole thing was.

The Devon space rock trio tweeted that they were similarly "gutted" and posted the below picture on Instagram, alongside a caption thanking the "amazing fans".

    Always thank the fans...

They wrote: "Very sad Chicago City & police evacuated Grant Park early on in our show tonight due to lightning strikes nearby. We will be back as soon as we can. Thanks to all those that were rocking in the storm. Amazing fans as always."

    Woop woop!

The guy behind Camila (above) is already reaching for his pint, see?

We'll also bring you news of another big festival fail, as more pesky weather ruins Muse and the aforementioned Kiwi singer's big gigs in Chicago.

Liam Gallagher's own voice curtails his performance at the very same festival.

Later on we'll reveal 5 Things We've Learned This Week - aside from bad weather can ruin everything. That one comes for free...
