Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall apparently told Lady Gaga they share a name when they met before the Royal Variety Performance last night.

The US pop star shook hands and chatted with the Duchess at the Hammersmith Apollo in London.

As they were introduced, Camilla is reported to have told the Poker Face singer: "My grandchildren call me Gaga."

So there you go. Now you know.

More bad news for the Jay Z household now (sort of).

She may have received nine Grammy nominations yesterday, but pop sensation and Mr Z's wife Beyonce has lost out in the battle for Time Person of the Year to US President-elect Donald Trump.

Beyonce, who publicly-supported Trump's Democrat rival Hillary Clinton in the run-up to the election, was considered on a shortlist alongside US gold-medal winning gymnast Simone Biles, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and former Ukip leader Nigel Farage.

We're sure the singer won't lose too much sleep though for having missed out on an award that boasts Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin among its previous winners.

Court documents have shown that rapper Jay Z's entertainment company Roc Nation tried and failed in a bid to be selected to manage Prince's musical assets in the weeks after superstar's death.

The documents stem from a dispute between Prince's record company and Jay Z's music streaming service Tidal, which is playing out in both state and federal court in Minnesota.

Prince's estate claims Tidal is streaming more than a dozen of the star's albums without permission and is suing for damages, and demanding unlicensed material be taken down.

In its own petition, Tidal claims it has licences, "both oral and written", for a wide range of material, but Roc Nation itself has not formally responded to the copyright case.

Tributes have been paid to Tupac's close friend and collaborator Big Syke, who died on Monday aged 48.

American magazine TMZ report that the rapper died from natural causes at his home in California, though an official post mortem has yet to be performed.

An opera set in the North Tower during the 9/11 attacks in New York has won a British Composer Award.

Between Worlds by Tansy Davies explores the feelings of fear, courage and loss experienced by those caught up in the attacks.

Possibly not a date night then.

OneRepublic have unveiled the rooftop music video for Let's Hurt Tonight - which is being used in the new Will Smith movie Collateral Beauty.

The music video, which has been directed by David Frankel, features clips from the movie (which he also directed). Which is handy.

See below how it compares to the Beatles or even U2's famous rooftop performances. Gotta be up there surely (on the roof that is).

No word on the sex yet but Paloma has written an emotional thank you to NHS staff who helped her "after a difficult labour resulting in a caesarean "

She added she was "humbled" by "the devotion, kindness and commitment" of the doctors midwives and nurses at University College Hospital in London.

As Hollywood gossip types will tell you (not that we know any) American singer-songwriter St.Vincent and actress Kristen Stewart are an item.

We wouldn't know anything about that but what we do know is that the former Polyphonic Spree-r and now successful solo artist is has written the music for the Twilight star's new short film Come Swim.

And how do we know? Well because she told us all herself, look...

The short film is set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah in January.

YouTube has claimed it paid the music industry $1bn (£794m) in royalties this year - but record companies have responded by claiming that's not enough.

The company's chief business officer Robert Kyncl posted a blog, external highlighting the site's contribution to the industry arguing "free" streaming was as important as subscription sites like Spotify.

But the IFPI, which represents the music industry globally, responded saying the announcement "gives little reason to celebrate".

"With 800 million music users worldwide, YouTube is generating revenues of just over $1 per user for the entire year," it added.

This year, artists including Debbie Harry and Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue have publicly called for YouTube to treat musicians fairly.

Fifth Harmony's Work From Home ft. Ty Dolla $ign, external was the most watched video on YouTube this year with more than 1.17 billion views.

Watch it if you like, as many obviously have, but we both think that the building site health and safety regulations in that video are frankly non-existent.

An inquest into the deaths of British band Viola Beach after a crash in Sweden has heard that "none of the young men will have suffered".

The four-piece group and their manager, who were aged between 19 and 35, died on 13 February following a gig in Stockholm.

Their car plunged off a bridge into a canal, about 18 miles from the capital.

The inquest heard no trace of alcohol or drugs was found in the blood of manager Craig Tarry, who was driving.

Post-mortem examinations also showed the four band members had not taken drugs and had only consumed small amount of alcohol.

Paul Weller will be hitting the road once again from March next year.

The singer-songwriter, reached number two in the charts last year with his 12th studio album Saturns Pattern and he will spring back into live action on 31 March with a Teenage Cancer Trust gig at the Royal Albert Hall.

The charity gig will be followed by dates in Bristol, Northampton, Leicester, Doncaster, York, Blackburn, Liverpool, Watford, Folkestone and Reading between 1-13 April.

Few could argue that one of the breakout stars of 2016 was French popster Christine and the Queens.

After show-stealing appearances on Jools Holland , externaland Glastonbury, she even made the cover of Time magazine.

She also may have created one of the words of the year - 'pansexual'. As part of the BBC's 100 Women series, Christine - aka Heloise Letissier - explains to presenter Sarah Montague what that means.

An all-male a cappella group from Exeter University has won a competition to find the best amateur choir in the UK.

Semi-Toned were presented with the title by choirmaster Gareth Malone and a panel of experts on BBC Two's The Choir: Gareth's Best In Britain.

Malone said: "I'm so delighted for all the groups who applied and took part in this year's series. It has been an amazing experience getting to know the groups."

Meanwhile, student Michael Kuya - part of the winning choir - has told the BBC he is 'thankful' for having Asperger's syndrome.

He said Asperger's, a form of autism, pushed him to be the best he could be.

He added: "I'm really thankful for the fact I've got Asperger's. It's a part of me and I wouldn't be where I am today without it."

Apple Music says it will continue to pursue artist exclusives as it tops 20 million paid subscribers for the first time.

There has been criticism that putting albums behind a streaming paywall harms fans and, ultimately, artists.

"I don't think exclusives or promotions are anything new," Apple Music boss Eddy Cue told music reporter Mark Savage.

"They were done in the record business, they were done on iTunes, now they're being done on streaming."
