Gilly Hope
Gilly Hope Gilly Hope presents the Early Breakast Show each weekday between 05:00 and 07:00 and gets you through the morning rush hour with the latest traffic and travel news.

If you ever wondered who ate all the pies, then Gilly's the person to ask - she used to sell them for a living at football matches!
Gilly Hope
Place of birth: Sunderland, at the General Hospital (now The Royal).
Favourite place or view in the North East: Looking out of my bedroom window I can see along the seafront in Seaburn. When the sun shines it looks wonderful! I also love Hamsterly Forest - many a holiday spent at my grandparents' caravan as a girl.
First record you bought: "Ebony And Ivory" by Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder - 75p from Woolies...oh dear...
Previous jobs: Stacks! Selling pies at football matches, working in a clothes shop, youthworker, bar maid, call centre...I spent some time as a teacher for a theatre company too. Eventually I thought I would give radio a try!
Best thing about working in radio: Every day is different...it's a great job! The chance to have fun, play great music and make people happy with prizes and birthday wishes.
Most interesting person you have interviewed for radio: Matt Goss and Myleen Klass who were both lovely, but Rick Waller needed a sense of humour transplant!
Best thing about your show: Knowing that we have a little gang on Early Breakfast. Some people are listening as they wake up, some as they go to bed at the end of a night shift. It's such a mix we never know what calls or texts are going to come in!
Who you would most enjoy being stuck in a lift with: The old Hollywood glamour girls...Audrey and Katherine Hepburn, Bette Davis, Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe...just think of the juicy gossip they could share!
Where you are when you get most of your inspiration or creative thoughts: Often on the way to or from work...or just as I am dozing off in bed.
Funny sayings you like to use: "I have champagne tastes and lemonade pockets". Unfortunately, that saying is a bit too close for comfort.
Proudest achievement: Without doubt, my daughter.
Where you go for quiet moments: Hello!?! With a toddler around the house, quiet times are few and far between...until we manage to get her to bed!
Memories of teachers at school: There were a couple of nice teachers...but I remember one teacher who had these awful brogue shoes and you could here him coming from 100 yards away! And there was a supply teacher who was the subject of many jokes by the naughty boys.
Favourite playground game: We used to play british bull dog on our estate when I was little. I remember the cuts and bruises particularly well - and for that reason I'm sure it's not that popular now.
Any habits, annoying or otherwise: Don't EVER leave the room when we're watching TV - I have a habit of changing the channel (as I ALWAYS have the remote control, of course!).
