Andie Harper first appeared on Radio Cambridgeshire in the late 80's where - as "Mr Music" - he used to provide background information on artists from the 60's and 70's. He was the only person available with first hand experience of those heady times! He graduated to the Sports Team and his first task was reading the racing results (of no interest to the listener but great practice for him!) Since then he has presented every programme on the station including County Life, the Country Show and a seven hour Christmas Day Marathon. A teacher since 1970, Andie took early retirement in 1997 expecting bits and pieces of freelance sport work but in April 1998 he landed the big job of Sports Producer. After five years he passed the sport responsibilities to Jonathan Park and became the Drive presenter although he continued to deputize on Breakfast for Steve Riches. Now he has landed his dream job of Mid-Morning Presenter and intends to enjoy the next few years working with a great team. This means he's now the new consumer champion and is there with Mark Williamson and Nicola Stonehouse to sort out your problems and put the world to rights! A cracking team who attack issues with relish and pour scorn on bad service! With two "children" in their 30's Andie's next ambition is to be a grandfather but at the moment he must content himself with his cat and the garden! A newspaper addict, Andie's other main interest is music (apart from jazz and the "new fangled stuff") and his biggest claim to fame is a winning appearance on Blankety Blank in 1984 - there's only one way to go from there!
