|  | Perhaps you've seen her presenting programmes outside the news; she loves a chance to revel in the landscape of the West country.
She's presented alongside Alan Titchmarsh, combing the countryside for clues to our past in the acclaimed series, British Isles; a Natural History.
The programme ignited her passion for geology - and she's now working to build on that knowledge.
And Amanda had another opportunity to cover some ground in the Seven Natural Wonders series which aired nationally, not long ago, on BBC2.
She shot through some of the most fascinating and beautiful parts of the countryside in Kayaks, boats and helicopters, capturing it's magic from every possible angle.

Amanda earned a first class degree in English at the University of Bristol; she specialised in the stories of Arthurian legend, and the lives and writings of the Anglo Saxons.
And this is where her long-standing obsession with history began.
She's always loved teasing out a good story; that's what set her on her path to news.
Amanda started making tea in a local radio newsroom, sneaking the chance to write bits of copy for bulletins.
Bitten by the bug, she went on to London to study for a post-grad in Broadcast Journalism.
She worked with the old Breakfast with Frost team, at BBC Radio Five Live, ITN, and in local radio.
And when the BBC offered her a news traineeship in Bristol, the move back west, she says, felt like coming home. Her work with the BBC has been extensive, she's been a programme producer, she's been a roving reporter, both in radio and on television, she's guest presented on Inside Out, co-fronted the politics show Points West Lobby for a year, and most recently, she's been nightly anchor for Points West's main 6.30 programme. Amanda loves the West, and she loves adventure, whether she's cycling across Vietnam and Cambodia, or learning to navigate a hot air balloon over her beloved Bristol. In the rapids of the Wye, in the caves beneath Cheddar, there's no challenge too big for this girl!
