Groove enthusiasts Hijera have been pushing their indie dance hybrid on the masses since they formed in Southampton at the start of the millennium. Heavily influenced by Dance, Psychedelia and Indie, Hijera have been compared to such greats as the Happy Mondays
and the Stereo MCs and more recently, Kasabian.
Since the release of their self released 'The Seedy EP' at the start of 2005, Hijera have raised their profile by consistently gigging around the UK - they've played alongside such acts as Infadels, The Kooks, El Presidente, Mani and Terry Hall.
The band are currently recording their first long player, the follow up to The Seedy EP, in their new studio at home in Southampton.
Hijera were selected for Next Stage by BBC Southern Counties Radio.
